Nope.

I've used these coupons lots of times in the past and never had a problem using the discount on DVDs.

I don't think they are stackable except the $10 off $40, whcih can be use on any item, regular or discount price.

Borders coupons appear regularly enough to warrant a sticky thread.

I second that motion. There is at least a coupon each month, so a sticky would be nice.

Not a DVD, but I'm looking to get a gift for a friend. Could any of these be used to pick up the Complete Calvin & Hobbes? I think its list price is $150, but it sells for $105. If that's a sale price, then I'm guessing I can't use the 30% off one (which would be preferable), but I might be able to swing the $20 off $80 or more one. Thoughts? Or did I answer my own question?

I think the best and only option is the $20 off $80. The book will go down to $85, which isn't that bad for this huge book.

That's also about what Costco's selling it for -- something like $85 or $90, if I remember correctly. That's assuming you (or a friend) have a Costco membership, that is...

missed the 30% off coupon dates. wanted to use it on Bird With The Crystal Plumage, since I haven't found it at any B&M stores for less than 29.99.

C'mon Borders--we need another 30% off coupon. With their online stock check showing that it was in stock, prior to the 19th, I had reserved a copy of the new LOTR Fellowship of the Rings soundtrack box set at my local store, and both times they sent me an e-mail that after looking for it it wasn't in stock. Well I had a chance to stop in this morning to check and they did have a copy-of course the 30% off coupon is dead now.

Keep in mind most coupons are good off the regular price, not sales. I tried to use the 30% off the other day on PJ's King Kong Diaries and it took the 30% off the regular price bringing it down just below the "sale" price. I was hoping to get the set for ~$20 but got it ~$30.

i received another discount coupon for 30% (valid until jan 4, 2006) after registering my borders reward card online. have you tried signing up for borders rewards? it's free. it's like bestbuy's rewardzone except that this one is totally free (no annual fee).

I was in Borders the other day. It appeared to me that if you took the % off their regular price, it would just be about Wal-Marts regular price. Is there a secret to saving at Borders?

It all depends of what you buy. I haven't seen a Criterion DVD on Wal-Mart, but Borders stocks most of the collection frequently, and with a coupon, you can sometimes get a good deal.

Yeah--for the most part, you save at Borders by not buying there.

I was at Borders this morning and they had the new Miles Davis Live At the Cellar box set for $109. Now, the list price on this is about $102. So Borders' philosophy is to take the list price that noone in their right mind would buy something at in the first place, and then add on a few bucks to make it even less appealing.

Seriously, the only time to consider buying at Borders is with a coupon, preferably the 30% coupon. And it's not like you're going to get an amazing deal--like you said, it may only equal what you'd pay at other retailers. But sometimes they have stuff in stock that other retailers don't have--then the coupons come in handy.

Hi. Unfortunately, for right now Borders Rewards cards can only be obtained/picked up in certain 'market' areas (Ann Arbor-Detroit, MI; Portland, OR; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Phoenix, AZ; Kansas City, MO; Hawaii per the bordersrewards.com site). Each market area actually covers several cities for that area (example: the Phoenix AZ market area also includes Tucson AZ and other cities in Arizona.) But the cards are valid at all Borders and Waldenbooks in the U.S (and also in Puerto Rico, I believe).

So if you know anyone in any of the covered market areas, maybe they can pick up a Rewards card for you and send it to you. (Then you'd get the extra coupons, the members 10% off shopping days (which also work with most of the coupons!) and the holiday savings rewards)

I hope this helps

(BTW, Hello, this is my first post here :-)
