$4.99 movies at Safeway (w/ card)

I don't usually shop at Safeway, so I don't know if this is new or not.

There were about a dozen or so titles, mostly ones that had been replaced by new editions....Spaceballs, Rain Man, West Side Story, Tomorrow Never Dies, and a few children's titles.

My local store (Baltimore) was also having a $10 off $50 promotion, so if you found 11 you liked, you could sweeten the deal.

I was just going to post this. Same thing at Von's (owned by Safeway). I picked Princess Bride SE. Also had... (from memory)
Great Escape (non SE)
Agent Cody Banks 2
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (non SE)

maybe some others.

I thought Tomorrow Never Dies was always available in widescreen. The SE's were widescreen only. The barebones one had widescreen and fullscreens versions on it.

Picked this up in Safeway today, thinking it was a sweet deal. Saw the "fullscreen" on the cover, flipped it over and read the box. Fullscreen version of the movie on disc one, extras/special features on disc two. I put it back on the display, picked up the rest of the the boxes and checked, all fullscreen. If this had been widescreen I would have jumped on it.

FWIW, it helps to check more than one Safeway, I saw one Safeway with a big display box near the front desk, but it contained only a few different titles and at another store I saw a huge selection that was put out on the regular product shelves.
