Seinfeld 5 & 6 - Best Prices?

What are the best prices for Seinfeld seasons 5 and 6? And will there be any Black Friday deals on it?

Heliosphann 11-20-05 10:24 PM

I think Target has both 5 & 6 for $29.99 each and also a $5 Target Gift Card with either or purchase.

I hope this is the case, with the gift cards it looks pretty good.

jiggyblau 11-20-05 11:25 PM

Yep, buy Season 5, get the $5 gift card.

Buy Season 6 with the $5 gift card, get another.

$54.98 plus tax out of pocket with another $5 gift card for the trouble. I'll be going to Target Tuesday for this deal.

These sets are coming out mighty quick compared to others.

Am I the only one who thinks that once this series is completed that they are going to release a box set of the entire series? Like they did with Friends, Sex and the City, & Buffy?

I would think if any series is going to do this that this would be one of them.

They probably will, but most fans like myself can't wait that long!!!

:)

Maybe they'll release a box with little legs at the corners that fold out and make a coffee table.

That would be SWEEET!

FWIW I had a chance to see the special edition set of 5 and 6 with the puffy shirt today at Shopko (had them out early). I think I am going to pass on the special edition this time. The shirt is smaller than my hand (about the size of my palm in fact) and looked kind of shabby. I will be going to target to get on their deal or over to nebraska furniture mart maybe.

There's also 2 different (of course) bonus discs that come with the giftset, for those who care about that stuff.

One with Best Buy and one with Circuit City. Although the CC one isnt Seinfeld related.

They were promoting the hell out of this set on TBS tonight during the Seinfeld Story. Pretty much a 2 hour infomercial.

Michael Corvin 11-21-05 06:13 AM

What is the bonus disc at CC?

BTW, last time around I was able to just get the bonus disc at BB without buying anything. Definitely a YMMV, but I just went in after Christmas and they still had plenty. Told the cashier I got the set for Christmas and was wanting the disc. No problem. Sold it to me for a penny.

The BB near me still has a ton of these on the shelf. I think they are marked $3.99

I think it's just a generic "tv on dvd' disc

The Best Buy one will be offered separately, but does anyone know if it's free with other purchases? The website says it's for 9.99

They may be marked for $3.99 (original price), but they've been ringing up for a penny for awhile...I got one a few months ago for $.01.

Manzana 11-21-05 07:12 PM

So Seinfeld Seasons 5 and 6 are $34.99 each at BBY?

I guess the chances of BBY pricematching TGT at $29.99 + giving $5 for a gift card on each + giving the bonus DVD for free is almost zero. As much as I'd prefer that deal, I have to assume based on past experience that they will be snotty and say "we can't pricematch gift cards" and "you can't get the bonus DVD for free if you pricematch". So I guess I'll have to go to TGT early before they sell out of the handful of copies they'll get this week.

I wonder if they'll be under $20 the day after Thanksgiving (if they have any left in stock). Does anyone know what happens if you use the gift cards right away and then find a lower price and return the Seinfeld sets? Will they refund you $5 less on each?

too much 11-21-05 07:29 PM

They will give you back what the DVD costs ($24.99). The $5 giftcard is part of a package, but not required in order to receive the $24.99 + tax.

I wouldn't bet on the $20 for either season 5 or 6 (or 4 for that matter).

LaxBandit 11-22-05 09:26 AM

Are we sure these are $29.99 at Target? (Seinfeld Season #5/#6)

Looks like low price to me in the ad and then the listed price of $29.99 which is off to the left under a picture of three Seinfeld sets could mean the price for seasons #1/#2/#3.

LB...

Lecithin 11-22-05 09:33 AM

Why are the prices on Target.com for 5 and 6 $5 higher (and with no gift card) at $34.99 each?

I believe Target.com actually is Amazon.com when it comes to DVDs/CDs.

LoPan5705 11-22-05 10:05 AM

Just picked up the gift set at Best Buy. There were no bonus disc/exclusive disc with the set. I looked through the store didn't see any and asked a worker about it. He said there wasn't one. So, oh well.

I just got them both (Seasons 5 and 6) at Target and they were $29.99. I immediately used the two gift cards ($10 total) to buy "King Kong" for $4.99. Great deal!

I did the same thing this morning. I agree: great deal.

As for BB's bonus disc with the Seinfeld sets, be aware it is a CD featuring highlights of Jerry's stand-up from seasons 1-6. It is NOT a DVD.

actyper 11-22-05 12:06 PM

1-6 on www.amazon.ca is $125cad

You're not basing the fact that it comes in a jewel case that it must be a CD are you? BestBuy.com has the disc on the site, and they call it a DVD:
