Fox Studio Classics $7.50 at Walmart

Not sure if this is a nationwide promotion, but there was a whole cardboard display of Fox Studio Classic movies at $7.50 each at Walmart today. The ones I remember seeing:

How to Steal a Million
Titanic
Diary of Anne Frank
Peyton Place
An Affair to Remember
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
Desk Set
Three Faces of Eve

There were alot more, but I just grabbed the ones I wanted (Peyton Place and An Affair to Remember) without really taking notice of everything available.

I also saw the John Wayne Signature Collection on the way out for about $19.99.

Hopefully one of mine has this. I haven't even been able to find "Titanic" in any store but Borders around here and it's close to twice that price. Thanks OP; I'll keep an eye out.

I would bet that this is the old version, not the new one that just came out.

That would be the older movie Titanic, FYI - not the Cameron epic.

I saw this display today as well, Laura and some of the other Fox Film Noir collection were also there.

If you're talking about the new DiCaprio/Winslet version, then this is not it(that version is a Paramount title). It's the 1953 version starring Clifton Webb.

Gotta check the local Wal-Mart.

Would like to pick up The Ghost And Mrs. Muir: one of my favorite films that I haven't picked up yet.

I believe Grapes of Wrath and The Day the Earth Stood Still are part of the Fox Sudio Classics line. I ordered the latter as a CH enrollment selection back in 2004.

Also saw a display of these at the store in Huntington Beach, CA. Strangely enough, the display was on an endcap near the registers. It's not that hard to find, but I still would have preferred if they had in the electronics area. Saw all the ones the OP mentioned and a few more.

I am looking for the silent classic "Sunrise" that was part of this Fox Studio Classics line, so I may stop by and check it out. I seem to remember though, that this title was only available through a special promotion, so I may be out of luck.

^ That's right, Sunrise was only available as either a mail-in, or included in a Studio Classics box set that I managed to pick up right around when it came out.

I'm sure that you can still find it today, even if you have to check auction sites. Of course, there is a really nice Region 2 version available, if you have a region-free player.

...and Barbara Stanwyck. The movie is so-so but included is a fascinating feature length documentary about the Titanic which is worth the $7.50 price alone. I own all but one of the ones listed by the OP but am hopefull that my local Walmart has the few that I'm missing at the same price.

I have a sealed one for trade if you are interested. Shoot me a PM and let me know what you have for trade. In addition to the excellent movie, Included on the disc is a documentary on one of Murnau's lost films, "The 4 Devils" which is very well done.

At my Wal-Mart there were 16 DVDs in the display: the 13 DiscGuy mentioned, A Letter to Three Wives, two from the Film Noir collection: Laura and Call Northside 777, and lastly Hello Dolly!

"My Darling Clamentine" was in the display at my Wal-mart along with all the other ones confirmed here so far. I'd be shocked to find "Mark of Zorro", considering they just re-released it in a non-Classics edition, with a zippier cover. Features-wise, it looks to be the exact same great disc with the unholy addition of a colorized version. I saw this new veersion at Wal-Mart about a month ago for around $15, IIRC.

Anyhow, if you like John Ford and/or the movie "Tombstone" "Clementine" is worth checking out. GREAT MOVIE!

Coincidentaly, I just picked the box set with Sunrise at DDD during their sale....
still a good deal as Sunrise is worth the money alone.
