(HALF DEAD) HUGE British DVD sale at Amazon

I'll let someone else post noteworthy titles and prices (although the Alec Guinness collection and the Peter Sellers collection spring to mind). I'm too busy filling up my cart

British sale at Amazon

Edit: Hmm, can't find the direct link to the page. You might need to refresh that link to see the sale.

-added by pilot-

Thanks!

I'm in for:

- Bean: The Whole Bean - $23.97
- A Bunch of the OOP Anchor Bay Hammer Horror Double Features - $8.97 each

If anyone has yet to get The Office, this is a grand time to do so. $34.97 for both seasons and the christmas special. Terrific buy.

Thanks again OP!

The Saint Megaset at $59.97 (70% off) is tempting as a blind buy (I read the DVDTalk review for the first couple discs, but that is all I know).

The History of Britian ($29.97, 70% off) also looks appealing.

Hmm... glad I got that 4-month free trial to Amazon Prime. It has definately made me more willing to shop at amazon again.

How are you guys finding titles? It doesn't seem to cover all British titles, as the Blackadder set isn't on sale. Thanks for the heads-up on the AB Hammer titles - I finally got the last 3 sets I needed!

- Nevermind, on my 3rd refresh I saw the 4 links for British titles on sale.

Thanks for the links, pilot!

Can anyone recommend Rumpole of the Bailey? Seems like a great price.

Man, this site is KILLING my wallet. In for The Office Complete Collection, A Hard Day's Night and The History of Britain ($30 for that one is way below any price I've ever seen it for). Thanks OP.

Rumpole of the Bailey The Complete Series SET 1-3 $49.97

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...AAD8I6/dvdtalk

I always loved this show. If I didn't already have the Emma Peel and Prisoner sets
I would be all over those . As another thread said let the madness begin on DVD bargains.

I would recommend the Alec Guinness Collection to anyone. It is a great boxset. I bought them blind and enjoyed every movie.

shouldn't make a huge difference, but if you're on the fence about the alec guinness collection, criterion has plans to reduce a new version of _kind hearts and coronets_; we'll probably see this in feb.

great deals- I checked my goldbox and they listed Mr. Bean- The Whole Bean for the reduced price plus another 5% off down to $22.77

Others might want to check their goldbox first since another 5% off is great

Does anyone know if tehse are going to be re-released or is just the MSRP going to be much lower. I have noticed these on sale for a few times in the past month and each time they are getting a little less.

Also does anyone know if the original 71 episodes are available on DVD? What about the Avengers episods that dont have Emma Peel (Rigg) in them? There is a lot of "best of" collectons and various early volumnes. I have been excited to watch this series for a long time and would perfer to watch them ALL if possible

Great find OP thanks!

I am also picking up Gaimans Neverwhere which I have almost done a few times but always for about 10 more than this.

Those are some insane prices. If I had it, I could easily spend hundreds of $$'s here.

Wow, some terrific deals, especially the Hammer double features. I bought most of those two years ago during a DDD sale for $15 each. I paid even more for the ones I bought separately!

I got "Blood from the Mummy's Tomb" and "Horror of Frankenstein" along with a $7 DVD that I've been waiting until I needed to add it to get free shipping. This worked out perfectly. Thanks.

Y'know, I wonder if they're discontinuing some of these sets in their current form in order to reissue them in thinner cases for the individual DVDs. I couldn't figure out why the Python set had been reissued until I saw it in the store today; the discs are in thin boxes--the whole package is not nearly as wide as the one on my shelf.

Nice deal for the British War Collection. It was $50-60 even on DDD if I recall.
