Yeah, who's selling it for $30?

GuessWho 11-01-05 08:37 AM

Got E3 with bonus disc for $14.87 at Wal-mart

I would imagine so. Did anyone expect any establishment to sell out Halloween night midnight to even noon today? I mean the movie was good, but *I* was certainly not going to be waiting in a line to purchase it. I expect this to be a loss leader on Black Friday, so I'll hold off.

Odd because both Toys R Us and Blockbuster I think sold Eps 1 & 2 for $9.99.

What is NFM??

Y2K Falcon 11-01-05 10:47 AM

Nebraska Furniture Mart.

Apparently that store's DVD prices are the one good thing about having to live in Omaha, Kansas City (Kansas) or Des Moines. ;)

Got the widescreen plus bonus disc (and the clone three-pack) at Wal-Mart last night at midnight. It's a supercenter and they had TONS of everything. I think me and some old lady were the only two paying customers in the store... FYI it was 19.96.

The receipt would read:

Star Wars, Episode II - $9.99 (-$5.00 promotion) = $4.99
Target $5 Gift Card - $5.00
TOTAL = $9.99

So if you try to return the DVD and get a refund for $9.99 (or whatever the listed cost is), you'll actually end up getting $5 less than that (because that $5 went towards the gift card).

That may be true. Ive never done it before so I was wondering how it would work. I doubt anyone here is buying EP I + II so I may never though. Instead of wasting time I may just price match the $14.99 price at WalMart on the Bonus Disc. I just called and talked to a manager and he said they would do it.

At 9:30 this morning, I picked up my DVD + Bonus DVD at Walmart for $19.96. Glad I went there when I did. There were only 5 copies of the bonus DVD version left.

I too paid $19.96 at Wal-Mart for the bonus disc. The store only had 5 widescreen copies with the bonus disc at 9:00 in the morning. For Batman Begins they only received 3 copies with the bonus disc.

JustinCleveland 11-01-05 11:31 AM

There were a couple dozen bonus discs at Wal Mart in State College, PA this morning at around 9:30 when I took a jog down there. 21 after tax.

Struz 11-01-05 11:44 AM

I just picked it up at BB for $14.99 with free Litho for RZ members.

ScottsDvds 11-01-05 11:46 AM

$11.99 w/ Best Buy Bucks at Best Buy.

Ditto....they had the Unleashed Darth Vader figurine at my BB. I already have it though. ;)

Lecithin 11-01-05 12:19 PM

I got the widescreen EpIII with Bonus Disc at my local Wal-Mart Supercenter and it was the higher $19.96 price. I also went to Target and bought the Episode 1 DVD and got the $5 gift card (I only had the VHS of Ep1 thus far, so I needed to get it anyway.)

The Target receipt clearly says: "Special Promotion. Star Wars $14.99, Same Item Only If Open Refund Value: $9.99, Gift Card: 5.00 package Subtotal $19.99 -$5.00 Giftcard Free, Package Total $14.99. ALL ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED FOR FULL REFUND."

So there's your answer if you plan to buy an episode for the gift card and then return it for full price, you won't be able to.

Altimus Prime 11-01-05 12:22 PM

Cranberry, PA WalMart

$14.84 for Ep III (which I bought)
$19.96 for Ep III with the alleged "bonus" disc.

Eps I and II on special for $8.84 (most FS, some WS available.) I got Ep II since it was the only one I needed.

Interesting, my total cost for the complete Star Wars Saga, I-VI, is $63.67, or $10.61 per movie. I got Ep I free on a Kelloggs promotion, and the trilogy for $39.99 at WalMart.

Cshot 11-01-05 12:25 PM

Just picked up Ep3 at BB and got the Litho (almost free $0.01). I'm not even a Rewards Zone member and I guess the cashier thought I was when I paid with a gift card :)

Josh H 11-01-05 12:39 PM

$15.99 with the coin at target. Didn't want the bonus disc for $5 and wasn't joining reward zone to get the litograph as I don't spend enough yearly at best buy to offset the membership cost.

The point is - you don't have to be a RZ member in order to get the lithograph (costs a cent). Couple of weeks ago the Cinderella litho rang up like $25 unless you were a RZ member.

Altimus Prime 11-01-05 01:09 PM

I think the point is it's best if you just don't give a damn about getting a tiny poster, and get the DVD for the best price you can. ;)
