Has anyone seen this display at a Walmart that is NOT a supercenter?

Yes. My supercenter did not have it. The regular one had some display that said "great movies, great prices". It had no price listed on it and some where not Universal titles, but what I got rang up at 4.88.

LoPan5705 10-26-05 01:21 PM

Today was the day. The display was out. I picked up Duel, Man on the Moon, and Fletch. I wouldn't worry about quanity on these movies, they had plenty to choose from.

Jake77444 10-26-05 01:54 PM

Snagged a few more movies today at a different walmart....got spy game, weird scienece and fletch....almost all the fletch's were gone. The ones i found were hidden in the back of the cardboard display that was up against something.

Well, I guess I will go out of my way to go to my nearby supercenter. Hopefully it wont' be just a waste of gas. I stopped at a non-SC store this afternoon had there was no sign of this.

I checked two area Walmarts... one by my job yesterday, and one by home today... no displays or $4.88 DVDs to be found.

Big Worms 10-26-05 05:36 PM

Thanks OP. Found this display and picked up Fletch.

Chad 10-26-05 06:18 PM

Picked up Duel today. Found the display case right in front of the express check-out counter before checking out.

Thanks.

Looked at around at one of the WAL-MART's in my area - Maine - with absoutley nothing to be found anywhere. Didn't bother asking any employees, as I know they'd have no clue. Going to check back again in a couple of days, and also check the closest Super Center, too. I'd like to snag some of these movies at this price before they're gone.

Which one in Maine? I checked the one in Scarborough yesterday (Tuesday) with no luck. Was planning on going back Friday to check again.

..or..everyone that's here cooing about hoarding and scalping these discs could have helped someone on these forums that don't have it already. Personally, I don't care what you guys do. You all found and paid for them, but gloating about your profits seems a little bold on these forums.

That would be the one. I'll proabbly hit them up again on my way home from work Friday, too.

Still need to check Falmouth, Windham and Auburn (that latter two also being SuperCenters) - but that'll only be if I don't see anything on Friday. I have a co-worker checking the Biddeford store tonight, but I won't hear from them until tomorrow.

Let me know about the Biddeford one. The Falmouth one seems pretty unlikely to ever have the display, as their movie section is tiny. The other two I'm not familiar with.

Star Wars Guy 10-26-05 09:38 PM

Right up front at my Walmart. Tons of every movie already listed, including Fletch(except Weird Science -couldn't find any.) I picked up:

Fletch
Bulletproof
The Musketeer
Heart & Souls (for the wife for a Xmas present)

Not gloating at all. I even stated I would help others out if they needed it and one person took me up on it but passed as they decided to wait and see if one comes to their area.

I consider myself a starving dvd collector so if a profit is to be made, so be it. It is similiar to taking advantage of a misprice...at least to me it is.

My trip turned out to be a waste of gas. All I saw was a big cube of $5.50 titles, with a Warner Bros. logo on it. Nothing for $4.88, no Universal, no Fletch.

Ashirg 10-26-05 11:33 PM

I picked up in my local Walmart Broken Silence (Holocaust documentary) and Cape Fear (1962). Thanks!

Anybody in Columbus, Ohio (or surrounding areas) find any walmarts with these dvd's?

thedarktroll 10-27-05 01:23 AM

Finally found many of the titles mentioned thus far in this thread at the Arboretum location in Charlotte...not in their own dedicated display, but tossed in with the 5.50 DVDs...three bins worth of wading to find the following...

Fletch
Mad Dog and Glory
Man On The Moon
Nurse Betty
Plainsman
Red Dragon (they had both WS and FF, so don't be ignorant!)
Talk Radio (passed on it before, but that $0.62 makes a BIG difference ;-)
Tremors (YEAH!!! I'd forgotten how fun this movie was...)
Weird Science

I was really irked that they didn't have their own display, but pleased with what I scrounged up. I'll probably check another location tomorrow in the hopes of finding Mo Better Blues, and MacArthur...

For what it's worth, I only saw one other copy of Fletch.

HAS ANYONE SEEN Fletch Lives or Tremors 2 ??
