I know, I mean lately. I thought that if Best Buy thought this was a problem, they might start cracking down later in the promotion by spot checking some codes.

Edit: thanks mbs, I had deleted the post you responded to and reposted it with eau's response, which is why my question appears after your response. My son's birthday is coming up, I think it's time to start spending some best buy bucks.

I did another small amount both on-line and then in-store Tuesday ($18 worth x 2).

I've still not double-dipped a large amount of BB$ because I'm waiting on the 500 SASEs I sent the 11th thru the 17th (still have yet to get any back).

I haven't had a problem using the BB Bucks in store except that when i tried to redeem $5 worth on a PS2 game, the cashier insisted that there was a limit of $3 that could be used per game. I told him I knew the rules and that wasn't the case. I insisted that he show me a copy of the official rules and I ended up shutting down his lane for about 20 minutes during a pretty busy time. Whatever, I wanted my $5 savings.

Also, and more importantly, I've looked through the rules and haven't found any provisions stating that it is improper to use the BB Bucks online, then use the same ones in the store. Sure, it's on the line of whether or not it is ethical, but I'm not conviced it would be illegal. Any thoughts? I guess if you lied to the instore people and said you didn't use them online already, it would be fraud, but the instore clerks don't ask that anyways.

The ideal way around this would be to swap best buy bucks with a friend / coworker. That way, after being used online, if questioned you could just say you found them on the ground.

Section 7 has in it: but that would be for trying to get the big prizes, or stealing the winning tickets like the guy from the company that used to put together the McDonalds game did (a few years ago it was found out that one (or more) people were taking some winning pieces for big items ($1,000,000?) and giving them to friends.

Oh, and this was interesting: But at ebay there are a number of auctions, they seem to sell for ~ $0.70 per best buy buck.

Thanks Heat. I think another thing to note about the double dipping is that if you're doing it for 20 bucks or 50 bucks here or there, the chances of Best Buy doing anything about it are virtually none. But, if you're going in there trying to get the $300 max per day everyday, they might want to make an example of you.

Any good suggestions as to what to get online for BB bucks? I will have 100 coming back (hopefully) to me very soon. I will most probably double dip in store using them on a digital camera for my wife, but first I will use them online for various smaller transactions I think. Maybe some DVDs for instore pickup during the weekly sales, but any other items that are good to get?
Looked at portable DVD players and recordable media, but nothing really that great available it seemed.

500 took you 5 days? That's alot of writing and putting on stamps. Hope you had self adhesive envelopes

After convincing her I was not crazy for wanting to do this, my girlfriend helped. It wasn't all that bad, we could do about 100 per hour at our peak efficiency. And just used a sponge to wet the envelopes (self-adhesive envelopes were too expensive).

I placed an order for a single DVD online and was able to use more than the $3 (I actually used $4 without problem). Anyone able to use enough to make the DVD free?

Last year, this was no problem. I was able to buy a bunch of DVDs and CDs w/o the $3 limit. So what I did was to buy my DVDs/CDs on line, then go in store to buy games to double dip. I kept the purchases under $40 except when I bought a GBA SP on line using the max $40 on-line limit.

I haven't turned in any BBBs yet so I'm hoping that there is no $3 limit on DVDs/CDs. If so, then I'll buy something else with my BBBs.

Not free, but I paid like $2 for South Park season 6 last week.

I used $14 dollars in bucks (I earned them the hard way, eating sammiches!) on the mr show gift pack...bringing it to 45 or so bucks for all 4 seasons.

I used $3 of those same bucks the other day instore on the new depeche mode cd/dvd...its awesome in dts!

I picked up seven Dvds for nothing on Tuesday. You can use 40 codes, either $1.00 or $3.00.

Hmm... had a friend use $12 in bb bucks that had been used online to pick up a $13 item (paying cash for the difference), just to see what would happen. They had him fill out his name and address on a form, then stapled the $12 in BB bucks to the form.

I hope they did this to keep employees from taking the best buy bucks.

At my local Best Buy, they've started scanning the bucks...does this mean if I use them online first, they won't be able to be used in-store?

No, since all pieces have the same UPC (all $1s and all $3s).

Yeah I was able to get some dvds for free online, they even covered the shipping and canceled out the tax (they only chargs tax on the balance after the codes)

Ahh , I had 21 bucks worth of BB bucks so I looked around and needed a printer cartridge for my HP printer so I got it for free , shipped free and still have $1 in best buy bucks left over .
I'll save the left overs for Black Friday since Im sure they will have some decent deals at Best Buy

I dont think the BB Bucks are valid through thanksgiving. i may be wrong, but i though i remembered them being only good through the beginning of November...

I bought Arrested Development S2 w/ the RZ price and $3 BB Buck - the cashier didnt even scan the bucks, she just took the reward zone price and subtracted three dollars. No manager approval needed.

I just used $10 in Best Buy bucks online for their 3 for $20 deal.

I'm looking at my bucks right now, and they say "EXP 12/3/05" on the bottom right corner.

I shipped out 57 requests so far and got my first ONE back today .. a whole $1 Hopefully more come in on Monday.

Remember - requests have to be postmarked by Oct 31, so you still have a week to get 'em in.
