If anyone has an extra Band Of Brothers they'd like to part with, get in touch with me... -pray-

Sale OR trade.

Yo Mama 08-08-05 09:15 PM

I think the prices at one Target may be different than other Targets; it is not like Best Buy or Circuit City. When items go on seasonal clearance, different Targets can have different clearance prices (some 50% off, some 75% off).

I went to one Target in northern CA, all the stuff listed was 5.99. I went to another Target less than a mile away, and everything was ringing up regular price.

dkonarska 08-08-05 09:16 PM

No go in Columbia MD. Tried Band of Brothers and Friends. All rang up as regular price.

IDrinkMolson 08-08-05 09:19 PM

Wasn't some of the Targets putting their DVD's on clearance for remodeling of the electronics department?

JoN8282 08-08-05 09:21 PM

no go - west nyack ny

How can you checked so many sets? Does that store have scanner to check price by yourself?

Rogue588 08-08-05 09:40 PM

Yes.

DVD King 08-08-05 09:43 PM

nothing here, DAMN.

Y2J850 08-08-05 09:50 PM

CrashNburn I went to the one on 290 and Spring cypress which had the ones i mentioned for 5.99 and the one on 529 and Hwy 6 which had none for 5.99. If anyone could get me band of brothers or the o.c in exchange for looney tunes vol. or the Batman series Vol 3 it would be much appreciated.

kit 08-08-05 09:51 PM

No go in Littleton, Colorado!

edstein 08-08-05 09:53 PM

Just checked my Target here in Fort Worth 9:30pm. No deal on BoB or Looney Tunes.

Mazje 08-08-05 09:57 PM

If a kind DVDtalker wants to hook me up with either Looney Tunes set, let me know.

justbarelymovin 08-08-05 10:02 PM

Well, no luck here whatsoever, but it was worth a shot.

reverendmonk 08-08-05 10:03 PM

No luck in Allen, TX on OC, Gilmore Girls, Sex & the City, or Friends. I'll probably check the next nearest Target tomorrow morning. Thanks anyway OP.

MrPink 08-08-05 10:13 PM

I was able to get Jaws and Buffy Season 7. Looney Tunes, Band of Brothers, 24, Alias all were full price. I didn't see any other sets of buffy or any of Angel to check.

cello_player 08-08-05 10:16 PM

No deals at Cityplace and Skillman/Abram's Target's in Dallas

jpdude 08-08-05 10:21 PM

I would never in a hundred million years be this lucky! I'm an hour away from the nearest Target anyway........

CrashNBurn69 08-08-05 10:22 PM

im so damn pissed. sharpstown target had the oc, friends, gilmore gilrs, er, one tree hill, and lots of others for 5.99. so i got like 3 or 4 and as i was getting in line the lady told me "i can tell you right now those are 6 bux. theyre regular price". she said their systems messed up. out of all the dumb people ive seen working there, i had to get the one that knew what she was talking about. so i walked out with nothing. went staright to galleria. nothing. shot over to reliant target. nothing. isnt there some law that they have to sell it to you for what it scans. i'll go try again tomorrow morning. hopefully the error hasnt been corrected and i can get a cashier that doesnt know whats going on.

lwhy? 08-08-05 10:24 PM

I'll take a BOB if anyone has one they want to get rid of. Sale or trade.

Lame. I would say that's false advertising or something. Idunno. That really sucks! If you are able to score anything at that Target, could you please try (maybe on a second run since I doubt you'll be trying to pick up EXTRA copies the first time around) to grab me One Tree Hill or Gilmore Girls Season 3 or something? I live in the area (but in Pearland), so if that would be possible let me know. I'm not going to push my luck, though. Anyway, e-mail addy is [email protected].

metalfan 08-08-05 10:26 PM

Anyone willing to trade or sell Band of Brothers or Sex and the City?

I was there about 7pm for the first round then brought my brothers back around 8-9 and together we went through a bunch of titles. I know we scanned a lot more at that price, but I was getting overwhelmed. I spent over $300. My brothers spend quite a bit too. I was sure someone at the register would stop me from buying 30 sets at one shot for such a low price, but nobody questioned it at all. I found Mary Poppins at the end but didn't want to start going through evry disc in the store. My brother said Pocahontas was $5.99 as well.

OK, but a lot of them are WB.

Thats what I don't get. How do these people who ring the stuff up not realize something is wrong? Common sense? They scan plenty of dvds every day, now they are scanning box sets and ringing them up at $5.99 and nobody blinks?

If I had bigger balls I would have done what you did but instead just took a few sets and prayed they went through. I also went to a checkout lady that looked like she was counting the seconds until her shift ended.

gfoots 08-08-05 10:53 PM

Well they were super busy when I was there with only a few lanes open and a manager standing at the end of the register aisles giving everyone the evil eye, so they were pushing people through pretty fast. No one even looked at the display to see what the price was.

djsmooth 08-08-05 11:04 PM

No go in NW Tucson. There were no Looney Tunes on the shelves and several seasons of sex and the city were not shelved. I scanned BOB, Friends, and a couple of the sex and city that were on the shelves and all were regular price.

I went at 4 pm, btw.

Maxflier 08-08-05 11:07 PM

No luck for me tonight...dammit.May try a different store tomorrow.

PopcornTreeCt 08-08-05 11:09 PM

Anyone try this in Orlando?

paulringodaman 08-08-05 11:11 PM

Just got back and purchased 18 sets including many Band of Brothers, Every Friends, One Tree Hill, The O.C., Sex and the City and MacGyver. Thanks again OP, you have made me one happy boy.

Spent around $115-$120 and retail value almost $900. Again, thanks and if anyone needs an extra set of anything post!

historyavenger 08-08-05 11:15 PM

I really need Sex and the City Season 6 Pt. 1 & 2 and Gilmore Girls Season 3 the most. If I could trouble you for those items, that'd be so freakin' sweet. [email protected]

raytrade 08-08-05 11:21 PM

Read this post at 8:30PM and went RUNNING out the door to my nearest Target a few blocks from me (West Hollywood). Tried scanning Jaws, L Word, Little House on the Prairie, Looney Tunes, and One Tree Hill, all of which came up full price, so I decided not to try scanning more discs like some of you have done. Guess it was a no go.
