Either the rep lied, didn't know what they were talking about, or didn't make themselves clear to you, because I'm not the only one here who has received a full credit back to the credit card - and I don't believe that anyone has posted that their order was cancelled and they were only getting a store credit.

well, my order was definitely charged when i ordered it (see the charge on my statement) and cancelled, but i have not seen a credit on my statement either online or paper statement.

I placed 2 orders- the first directly through Overstock and the second through Citibank. The first order has credited to my credit card account, but the second order shows "cancelled and credited," yet there is no credit to my MC account.

When I complained about no credit showing up on my online bank statement, despite the near real-time nature of other charges and credits showing up on my online bank statement, OS said that it could take up to 7 or 8 days to show up because "some banks hold the credit" for that length.

i just got home from work and found a package outside my door...to my surprise it was the 2 charles dickens collections i ordered long ago from this thread. my order was originally cancelled too. now to make sure they charged me correctly.

funny thing is that my cc doesn't show any charge (yet) and my overstock acct still shows cancelled for this order hmmmmm

So you placed the order in June and presumably were charged at that time. Then, late June/early July they were cancelling the orders, so presumably your original payment was refunded back to your credit card.

And now they SENT the order, even though they have no money for it.

Bizarre. Sounds as if their "misprice department" took care of the paper work, but never passed the word on to shipping department.

i can't explain it either. i was actually puzzled when i saw the overstock box. i thought maybe i ordered some dvds when i was drunk or something. perhaps others will get their orders fullfilled. anywho they will make christmas great gifts which is why i ordered them in the first place. anyone who actually has the set care to comment on the quality, extras etc? seems like a good deal even if they charge me at the mispriced price.

should check your cc statement. mine was charged the $11 or so back when this deal was first announced. My order was "cancelled" like the rest of you, but I've been paying attention to my cc statement and I have never been refunded the money. I've been holding out on calling them until after the release date, hoping they ship them anyways. we'll see.

I just heard a thump on my porch went out and there was a big box from Overstock.com there (I only ordered 1). I think I will just leave it in the box for now and see what happens. I'am pretty sure I got the refund after the cancellation of the order but will have to check on that.

Update:

I was refunded 11.78 from overstock on 7/2.

When I click on tracking I get a page that shows C. Dickens set and to the left of that in red it says Cancelled & Credited.

The USPS Media Mail Delivery Confirm # found on the box get this:

I called up Overstock's customer service to find out why I have not received my order yet. They told me it had been cancelled because they were unable to get any stock, so I mentioned that y'all were getting yours even after it was cancelled and refunded. She that since I brought it to her attention, she was authorized to send me my original order for free!

The same thing happened to me about three years ago with another site (Orderbox or something). I bought an 8-volume Hitchcock Collector's set with an obvious price mistake. Was charged $14.99. Then cancelled and credited. It shipped anyway. Now that company is long gone.

Got mine in the mail today too. My order status says cancelled and credited as well. But I know my credit card was not refunded yet. So, now that I got the DVDs do I still call and try to get my $11.78?? hmmmm, ethics is hard.
