Gamestop B2G1F coming back on June 10th (CONFIRMED)

Was doing some shopping today, got in to a conversation with the Game Stop employees. One of them told me that the B2G1F is coming back on Friday the 10th, for the weekend only. This was at a store about an hour south of me, so I don't know how reliable they are. I'll be checking with the guys at one of my local stores tomorrow to confirm.

By the way, today's Game Stop find - a near perfect copy of Mrs. Doubtfire, $9.99

Thanks for the heads up! I have to bring back a copy of Beauty and the Beast Platinum 2-disc I bought today for 12.99, had a deep scratch and lost a minute of the movie. Awesome price, hate to lose it, but the B2G1 sale would make up for it.

Have you tried boiling it a few times first? If it's too deep it wont help much though, but just a suggestion since that's a great price for that DVD.

I picked up a copy of Beauty and the Beast today as well, $12.99 w/ slipcover and inserts. Can't beat that. They also had Snow White with Inserts for only $16.99. Best $30 bucks i've spent in a while. I hope i can find some similar deals at this sale.

I usually make out pretty well when Gamestop has these, so hopefully they don't let me down this time.

I just checked with my regular Game Stop, and the manager told me that for the past 2 weeks he's been told that B2G1F would be coming back for the weekend, and each time they called it off just before it started. Sorry if I jumped the gun in reporting this, I probably should have waited until I had this guy confirm it for me.

If it really it a credible rumor, it'll probably happen. Its not like its put called off every weekend for 2 months or something, its only been once or twice, right? If he said it was supposed to happen, I don't see why it wouldn't soon, beyond weird corporate circumstances.

Well, I'll still stop-in this Friday to be sure.

This applies to videogames too, I'm assuming.

I've heard of it too, but never had a disc bad enough to risk trying it. Supposedly, the problem isn't just the scratch, but junk that's gotten into the scratch, boiling releases this stuff. I don't think it's a "yellow highliter" type of thing either, the posts seemed serious.

As for Gamestop, they've been clearing out their anime for some time now, my wife and I got some serious deals from a couple of locations. The most recent was the complete (7-8?) disc set of Steel Angel Kurumi for $9.99 (plus my wife's 10% off card.

From what I read on www.cheapassgamer.com, it does but only for pre-owned games.

Which isn't that special as the run b2g1 on preowned games pretty often.

You want to do it in store too, you can get games of any value (with the cheapest free) in store, online they games have to be $29.99 or up (at least the two you pay for anyway) or it won't go through.

I went to a gamestop in Gilroy, CA 2 days ago and they had a fair amount of Disney movies. I wish I knew about this B2G1 free then I might have hid them and went back for them later (or could I return them to any gamestop on friday and then just re-buy them that same day with the B2G1 free?).

But that Gilroy Gamestop had: Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and the Tramp, Pinnochio, Peter Pan, Jungle Book, Fantasia 2000, Hercules and the Toy Story 2 pack. My eyes lit up when I found all of those movies. They said that they just got a shipment in from Chico and that's why they had all of those. I got really lucky.

Hey all, I stopped at one of my local Game Stops on the way in to work, and it is B2G1F this weekend. Right now the stores are being told that it'll last all this weekend and through next weekend, but corporate has been known to change their minds and pull it after 3 days.

Only made a small purchase this morning... much more will be spent over the weekend, though.

Batch #1: Dukes of Hazzard S1 ($19.99), South Park season 3 ($19.99), Dawson's Creek s4 (free)

Batch #2: Hero (14.99), White Noise ($14.99), Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow (free)

Once someone gets here to watch the store for me, I'll be heading down to hit the 4 Game Stops near my distributor, then I'll hit the 3 others here in town before they close. Saturday's an off day (due to me not having anyone to watch the shop for me), and then Sunday will be 2 more south of here, then off to visit a friend and hit the 3 in his area.

Wow, after getting shut out big time the last 3 or 4 sales, i picked up some good deals at 2 gamestops today. FOr about $8 a flick i picked up Pochahontas , bambi, aladin, sin anime, saw, last 2 harry potters, seven platinum, sledge hammer season 1, akira SE and Armageddon Criterion. Some slip cases were a bit tired, but outside of that in ok condition.

First time ive seen a criterion in my area, bummer i already have it, but might be some trade bait now.

I stopped in at one local store today (Austin @ I35 & Parmer). In addition to the B2G1F, they were also having all DVDs normally priced at $5.99 on sale at 3 for $10. I picked up The Thing SE, Joe's Apartment, Dick, Celia Cruz & Friends: A Night Of Salsa, Adam's Rib, and IMAX: Into The Deep. I have no idea if this is an unadvertised deal at all Gamestops (there was no sign up but an employee told me about it).

Edit: Looks like this 3 for $10 deal is ongoing at all Gamestops. I went to three more stores today and picked up a lot more good stuff:
The Storyteller: Greek Myths
Reefer Madness (for the Mike Nelson Commentary)
Daylight CE
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Big Night
Patriot Games
Journey Of Natty Gann
A Walk On The Moon
and a couple of others...

This sale is actually on the $5.99 DVDs which are regularly 2 for $10, and they're honoring the storewide Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal so you can get the 3rd free. I asked at one location about how much longer the B2G1F sale was on and was told it was until this Friday (6/17).

Hate to bump an old thread getting peoples' hopes up, but I was wondering how often this sale happens. I went by today and saw quite a few decent priced season set I'd love to buy.
