I emailed DDD on why I did not receive the 10% coupon and received the following response: "The 10% offer was presented to old customers that haven't placed any orders in a while, as an attempt to bring them back to our service. We apologize that you had not received the offer, though we can let you know that there may be a better one coming up shortly. ;0) Keep checking your E-mails and the website for further information."

DDD's email regarding how and why some customers got the coupon would not seem entirely accurate, at least judging by my experience. I received the coupon although I had just placed an order with them two weeks prior. Also, I didn't receive the previous coupon in spite of the fact at that point it had been a few months since I had ordered anything from them. I suspect it may have something to do with the volume of orders one typically puts in, since (up until the first half of this year) I generally place a decent sized order with them every month (sometimes twice). I might seem conspicuous by my absence after awhile if they track such things.
As for the 20% sale, I'm guessing that the first or second week of June is the likely target. Great for me, since there's lots of stuff coming out that I want then. I'm guessing the 10% codes might be aimed at getting some of the volume customers to place one more big order before the real rush at 20%, especially since one could never be absolutely sure the bigger sale would happen. So it's smart marketing at work.

I didn't receive a coupon code from DDD. I have ordered a bunch of stuff from them in the past. My last order was back in November of 2004. I was hoping to get one so I could order a couple of boxsets that won't be out until after June assuming June is when the 20% off sale will occur.

Well the good thing about the 10% coupon is that you can use it on pre-orders. Every little discount helps. And, of course, the 20% discount does not include preorders - and the last time there was one, they scheduled it to come out before a few big releases.
