Life Aquatic Criterion 2-Disc- 14.99 @ CompUSA

Already had ordered online, but when I walked into CompUSA, saw it priced at 14.99. Did a double take, but it says thats its the 2-disc version.

Bought it, haven't opened to make sure its the 2-disc but the sleeve says it is so.

Needless to say, I cancelled my order w/ Target online.

I just bought 1 at the San Diego CompUSA on Kearny Mesa. They had about 10 left.
$14.99 for the 2 disc edition

The single disc version only has the audio commentaries and deleted scenes. The 2 disc version has that same disc + an extra disc of extras.

I also got closer for 14.99 but the guy said the computer scanned it at 19.99. they gave me the discount but he told all the guys to resticker the closers 19.99 at my store. Oceans 12 and racing stripes were 14.99 as well.

Do you think if I order it online I'll get the 2 disc? My closest CompUSA is quite far away.

The good news is, yes, they have the 2-disc showing on the website for $14.99. The bad news is, shipping is $5, which pretty much kills it. You may want to print the page http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...9414&pfp=srch1 and try for a price-match somewhere else.

At these prices, Life Aquatic is going to start turning up in bulk in the used discount bins for $5-6 like Royal Tennenbaums CC. What a shame.

How is that a shame?

BTW, thanks OP. I'll pick it up tonight. I was at Costco last night, had it TLA 2-disc in my hand in the checkout line, and I managed the willpower to put it aside in hopes that I might find it cheaper (I have a hard time paying over $20 (after tax) for a movie. Heck, I have a problem paying that much for a box set).

I'll tell you, it's a good thing many of you were not collecting in the LaserDisc days. That 2 disc Life Aquatic dvd from Criterion would have been a 3 or 4 disc LD set retailing at $124.99 with a street price of $90. what a change (for the better obviously) in the DVD world. . .

That is right down the street from my office. Why did I pre-order this from DDD?

Thanks for the heads up, OP. I would've never even thought to go to Comp USA! Hopefully they'll have a copy left.

Hehehehe. Yeah. I was being sarcastic.

I've already got one coming in the mail. Is this is a regular sized case or the usual large 2 disc criterion case?

I haven't opened it but it looked like a normal sized w/ hinge. 5 left at Rockville, MD CompUSA but I had to send an employee to look for it.

Oh that sucks. I really prefer the larger double chubby cases. Is Criterion getting cheap on us or what? jerks.

No Criterion isn't getting cheap on you. Its a mass-produced title unlike their other titles. It probably saved them $$$.
