wow thanks I didn't know that, I wish Playtime was still in print, I'd love to pick it up, really enjoyed the others. There's been rumors about it, but apparently nothing definite, hopefully Criterion will get their hands on the 70mm print that's playing in some movie houses in NY now.

So if someone were to make a decision between Straw Dogs CC or Notorious CC on a "future availability" scale, which do you think should be purchased?
I can't afford them both right now, but both are on my wish list. of course I want all the hitchcock criterions so maybe I should buy SD and hunt down the HC boxset? dvd decisions are tough.

I don't believe this title is OOP anymore either.
Amazon has them in-stock brand new. I even found a copy in a local Newbury Comics (RI) this afternoon -- also brand-new with a date of 4/5/05 on it, I believe for $29.99.
Seems like Criterion must have printed a fresh batch of copies because they seem to be everywhere now.
