STAR WARS CLONE WARS FIGURES w/DVD purchase @ Wal Mart

Wal Mart is offering a chance to purchase 2 seperate limited edition 3 packs of Clone Wars action figures with the purchase of the Star Wars Clone Wars DVD. My Wal Mart in the Chicago area limited the figure set to 1 per DVD purchased.

At my Walmart, each three pack of figures (of which there were two, one heroes, one villians) was $9.xx and could be purchased seperately from the DVD.

How much was the dvd?

I'm planning to get it at CC but if Walmart has a better price I'm there.

Are the figures themselves unique (not available elsewhere carded)... or are these the same existing figures in unique packaging?

They appear to be unique.
Click on the above link to check them out.

Pretty sure they are NOT unique... They are each available separately in Clone Wars packaging (was a Target exclusive last year, but were re-released this year at all major retailers). Although, you can probably only find them at Toys R Us these days since other stores clearanced them out. However, when SW Trilogy was released in September, they also had Commemmorative figure 3-packs with non-unique figures that were exclusive to Wal-Mart which sold out fairly quickly. I'm betting the same thing will happen again... $9.96 for these 3-packs is a pretty good deal, IMHO. I'm a SW figure collector, BTW, so I'm somewhat biased...

Yeah, they were $9.96 each and you do not have to buy the DVD. The DVD was $14.44, so I waited and got it later at Circuit City for $11.99.

Here are some better pictures and details:

I don't even think it said anywhere that you have to purchase the dvd to buy the set. Atleast in my store.

FWIW, Best Buy totally dropped the ball on this one. I tried to pick up a copy of Clone Wars yesterday at the East Palo Alto, CA store and they were totally sold out. All of the other advertised new releases were in stock just fine. I went on line to BestBuy.com. and every store in the South bay AND the East bay were sold out! WTF?

Way to get a sale, Best Buy! I just ordered it from CC.com.

It didn't.

Same with the three sets that came out when the Star Wars Trilogy DVDs came out. I got all three figure sets at Wal-Mart, the DVDs at Toys R Us.

I was actually just about to post the exact same thing!!! In Houston, this BB got TWO copies in (or so I was told). They have 27 on order, but he said they wouldn't arrive until next week at the earliest... I will also order at CC.com right now...

the Best Buy in NYC on 86th Street still had about 50 or so on the floor as of tonight. NYC sells out of everything so I'm surprised that it's not sold out.
