Well, my apologies, then. But fujishig already (I believe) answered your question this time, so let's just leave it at that.

I don't think anyone will have much luck finding the set in stores, and even if one managed to, it's not even guaranteed that the online price reflects that of the one in stores.

Unlike the Gunparade March, Dai-Guard, Mirage of Blaze, etc. DVDs, these may not be marked down. My Best Buy actually had the aforementioned sets marked down a lot lower, so I don't think they were at all mistakenly priced. That may not be the case for the Hellsing set, though.

If anyone does manage to score one, it is a really good series, and even people I know who aren't all that into anime found it pretty entertaining. Good luck.

Is the website wrong on avaibility? I went to a store that Hellsing was "available" and the employee said he hadn't seen Hellsing there in 4 months.

the availability function for in-store pickup at BestBuy.com is wrong at least 50% of the time from my experience.

Usually if you choose in-store pick-up and it ends up not being available, they'll ship it to you for free.

Likewise, but it was 99.9% likely to happen.

I sent them an e-mail telling them that I was disappointed since they've done this to my past two orders. They could at least offer some kind of digital coupon to make up for their (seemingly) repeated mistakes. Dummies.

And when they got the email, they just sang out, "lived a si nivomylerabtsuj, lived a si nivomylerabtsuj!" No coupon for you.

Just got off the phone with CSR...
I had to explain how them cancelling something that is back ordered bothered me because it didn't matter that it was backordered because I wouldn't be charged until it shipped anyway.

I had the CSR note on my order that if it does come back in stock that I am to get it for the price I ordered it at (when placing a new order).

I suggest you guys do the same.

YIPPEEE!!! my order shipped !!!!! thanks to the original poster!!!!

here is something you guys may want to note - i work for bby... we just got word down from corperate. the policy to not match bby.com is now over - if someone comes in with a print out from bby.com showing a lower price, we are supposed to do it immidiatly. the only exception is if there are online only mail in rebates or in store mail in rebates that are not available online - in those cases customer can choose either the online deal or in store deal, no double dips.

Mine got canceled too and I ordered at 4:30AM EST Tuesday!

Does this also mean that instore access to bby.com will show the same prices as access from home? Otherwise how are they to verify that the printout is not forged?

The customer rep I spoke to said to have the store look up your order number to verify the original price your ordered the item for.

He did confirm that they should be able to PM it.

Well... I just called two of my local stores and they said that they do not PM bestbuy.com

So my question now is how do I get them to verify their new policy.

Half-Joey 03-26-05 11:32 AM
