Thanks for posting the Ed Wood box set deal. I picked that up today, looks like a good set. This is a great thread because I work at a Hastings and don't even know about these deals.

Hi all,
I am new to this forum but I posted a couple days ago asking if any kind soul with a Hastings near them would be willing to pick up a MST3K set 6 for me for that discounted price. I will definitely return the favor if it is within my ability to do so.
I hope to hear from a good samaritan who can help me out.
thanks

Two interesting updates:

The MST3K Vol. 6 set is on sale this week for only $9.99, should you be lucky enough to find one.

Second, if the Hastings near you is out of these, the store will let you order them at this misprice. I have Ed Wood coming for $13.99 and MST3K for $14.99 (they won't let you order it at this week's $9.99 sale price).

I got one at the Denton Texas Hastings today at $9.99.The manager ring me up and said"The MST3k rang up $9.99,guess it's on sale."I almost passed out.

If anyone can pick one up for $9.99 or thereabouts, I'll pay you $15 + 4 shipping media mail. (If $14.99, I'll pay you $20 +$4 shipping).

Or...if you'd prefer a trade, I can offer one of the following: Roswell Season One, King of the Hill Season One, or Angel Season One (all from recent online sales which are now defunct)...each person pays shipping cost.

Thanks for your consideration...although this is above & beyond the call of duty, IMHO. It's enough that members post good deals that they find for those who live close enough to take advantage. We are in Kingsport, TN about 120 miles from the closest Hastings store in Maryville, so the gas price alone would negate our savings (not to mention the time, car mileage, etc.). Ironically, we were in Knoxville last Wed....which would have put us about 20 miles or so from Maryville. Dang!

I have to personally thank Geoffrey for going out of his way to pick me up one (MST3K Vol. 6), the first time around. That shows a lot of character, man! And, I appreciate it. Hope to return the favore one day!

I managed to get one of these for a board member, today. At the register, the chasier told me "This rang up $9.99" and I was shocked. They only had one though, but I'll keep watching all week.

Btw, what section of the DVDs is the Ed Wood boxset in? I'd love to have it.

Yes, that's Hastings website. They often have $5.99 Previously Viewed DVD sales, or buy one at $9.99, get a 2nd for $0.01 - That's how they get rid of the large numbers of new releases they're done renting. They also sell used boxsets, Criterions, and things of that nature for good prices. You can usually fnd a pricing error on things too, which they honor, 95% of the time.

30% off newly released books, discounts on magazines, and usually a large selection of used/new CDs. They're def worth checking out if you have one in your area.

I'm in Central Texas. I frequent the Hastings in Waco, Stephenville, and Brownwood.

So, you have checked for these in Brownwood? Just wanted to be sure before I go there myself.

Yes I have, and my friend who attends college there, checks on practically a daily basis, trying to get one for herself, and another board member, but they don't have any.

Cool thanks. I was just trying to decide if it was worth a call to the in-laws to send them in search of it. Ahhh, good old Howard Payne... spent a few semesters there myself...

No luck finding this at either of the Austin-area Hastings (Round Rock and San Marcos). Of course the San Marcos location had every MST3K set except for Volume 6!
