So.Cal Wal Mart Stores : Durate and West Covina - $19.96

Liquid Death 02-22-05 11:54 AM

Ah, thanks - guess I was confused by the 2nd post.

ThePrimeDreamer 02-22-05 11:57 AM

I don't know if this is true since the person sounded unsoudly, but I called up a SunCoast at the Westfield Mall in Santa Anita, and they told me but 2, get $3 off, buy 3 get $9 off and they price, originally at 29.99 or 20.99 (I'm guessing the latter) but still not a good deal as I had hoped.

johnny-sparks 02-22-05 02:20 PM

If you live in Pacific Northwest you can use $4.00 off coupon(sundaynewspaper) at Fred Meyer. I scored Nausicca+Porco Rosso for 15.99 each! That's the best deal so far.

Should there be the Best Buy Disney giftcards still on shelves? There weren't any at the Best Buy in Moorestown, NJ. Does anyone know if there are any at the Plymouth Meeting or King of Prussia, PA stores?

you don't. You just gotta look everyone around the store to see if they have them. Some stores may not have any more cuz they were sold during the holiday season.

If you could try calling but the employees are probably clueless about them.

SLeopold 02-22-05 05:16 PM

Meijer stores have them for 16.95 apiece. According to the package, if you buy all three, you get a free DVD by mail (not sure of the details).

Why? Is there some sort of deal for them?

(mine does, by the way)

Houston wal-mart price: $14.77, very good! I'll go to get 2 except the cat's return cause it's not by miyazaki.

seymouru 02-22-05 07:20 PM

$17.85 at my Wal-Mart. -ohbfrank-

The Cat Returns is a GREAT movie for 1) kids 7 and under and 2) someone who loves cats. All the characters are cats (or become cats) and the cat based animations are cute and clever. My wife loves it more than anything (we have had an import version for about a year). If you are expecting a Miyazaki-like story, you will be disappointed. It is fairy tale/kids picture book.

Kamikaze 02-22-05 08:58 PM

So do these include the 'buy these three, get another Miyazaki title free' coupon???

Yes. But for some reason, you can't pick Princess Mononoke -- you can only send in for a title from the last Miyazaki wave.

eisenreich 02-23-05 02:15 AM

$19.95 in central PA, sigh..

A better deal can be had at BB.

$17.99 x 3 - $10 Disney gc coupon = $44 for all 3 = $14.67 each.

The only think I don't like about FM is that they put their price tag ON the slipcover, which is a checkpoint device and next to impossible to remove without damaging the cover.

BB also has the price tag on the slipcover... OR are you saying it's easier to remove the BB price tag than the FM tag?

suomynona 02-23-05 07:37 AM

my neighbor totoro

does anyone happen to know why the 2-dvd set of 'my neighbor totoro' was delayed? it was supposed to come out with this wave (that's why there are only 2 this time.)

thanks in advance :)

Here is what Disney is saying (see the Jan 25 entry):

http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/new...ylVEkkAdFowjys

I have heard people say the real reason is because the Fox version (full frame, no Japanese track) is still on shelves, and they are waiting for that to go out of stock.

BBY's price tag is just a sticker which can be easily removed. A checkpoint price sticker is next to impossible to remove even off of shrinkwrap (e.g. Barnes & Nobles & Circuit City...well Circuit City doesn't use them so much anymore but look at their catologue titles)

But it need to cut out 'proof of purchase', leave an empty place on the back of box.

almost every single DVD rebate requires that you send in the proof of purchase or the UPC code. They do this so that you don't return the item and just send in the receipt.

I think that it's better to send in the PoP tab than the UPC cuz at least you can still trade it in/sell it cuz it has the UPC.

If you don't want to cut your PoP tab, then simply don't send in for the rebate.

The slipcases I saw in the stores had a sticker UPC label covering the UPC printed on the box. I wonder if that would work for the rebate.

This can't use for rebate. The bad thing for disney is they don't include proof of purchase in the insert like fox, they print it on the back. That's bad.

Also, reminder everyone, I sent check $1.99 for a free on year ago, disney didn't mail me the free one.
