B&M prices Hayao Miyazaki ?

Hello,

I sure hope there are better prices for this new round of Hayao Miyazaki films
coming out next week. The last round had coupons inside that you can apply at purchase. I hope they have that again. Best buy's sale price is 17.99.

they also say an extra 10 percent off anime titles for non sale....however when i bought 2 copies of bourne supremacy a few months back they gave me the 10 percent off my second copy. meaning 17.99+16.19+16.19

disney is also doing a deal where you buy these three titles you get one free by mail....i have no info or links, but assume it will be a tear off pad just like the promo they were doing earlier in the year.

Check out Wal-Mart...their normal price on all 3 films is $15.99 each...should be the same at all Wal-Marts...also, the deal for the free movie is for one of the Wave 1 Miyazaki films...so if you are like me and already have all 3, then it is pointless...but definitely a great unadvertised price at Wally World!!

That is interesting. I already own the three previous Miyazaki releases, so I would probably sell the free one to recoup some of my costs.

Does anyone know if Disney Buy X Get 1 Free offers work with titles purchased from the Disney Movie Club? I anticipate buying these from there.

The question for me is: Replace the Castle in the Sky where the disc was scratched during shipment (but plays ok) or replace the Kiki where the insert was missing (insert roulette!). Hmmm.

thriftyrocker, do not do either! Call Buena Vista at 1-800-723-4763 and explain the problems with your discs. I called about a missing Kiki's Delivery Service insert and the flawed subtitle track on Jackie Brown. They mailed me a new insert and a mailer to return my defective Jackie Brown for a corrected one! BV makes some poor DVDs sometimes, but their customer service department is awesome.

I picked up all three yesterday for $14.99 each at a used store by me. Someone obviously brought in there early copies as there were all still sealed. I don't think this will found anywhere else at this price.

Do they come in slipcovers? I read a post at AOD that seems to imply so.

Just found out that they do come in slipcovers, like the recent Disney DVDs.

I wounder if one can use the Disney coupon on these 3 DVDs at BB After all, they are marketed by Disney/Buena Vista. It's the Buy 2 Get $5 off, Buy 3 Get $10 off or Buy 4 Get $15 off coupon from the Disney themed Gift Card pack.

There will be a promotion in which when you buy all 3 DVDs you can do a mail-in for a free DVD from the last wave of Miyazaki DVDs for $1.99 S&H.

That's the Disney giftcard at BBY that hasn't been available for sale for like a year or more, right? If so, I think I remember at least one person using it on the first wave of Miyazaki anime.

Just make a color laser copy onto heavy stock and cut it out from that, include lots of "edge" from around the UPC to make it look more authentic. If you have to go to kinkos or the like to get access to a color copier, you can arrange the three covers to overlap in the copy so that you can get all that you need with just a single copy.

Kinkos can do that?

They will probably say it's illegal and such!

You can use one of the self-service machines and do it yourself.

Media Play B&M has an ok deal: all three movies are $19.99 but if you buy two you save an additional $6 and if you by three you save an additional $10.

If someone have success using the Disney giftcard coupon on the 3 Miyazaki DVDs this week, please post.

$18 * 3 - $10 coupon = $44 for all 3 DVDs is a pretty good deal.

I would rather have a confirmed success before driving 40 miles each way to the nearest BB

Also, I wonder if the 3 DVDs will have coupon inside for buying another one as in the last wave.

I had success, however it didn't do a package price like it usually does. There could be 2 reasons for this: 1) They're on sale for $17.99 or 2) someone didn't enter them in the system as Disney DVDs (these were found on the new release wall and in the anime section, not the Disney section).

So the guy manually took $3.33 off of each DVD after going to the customer service desk to ask.

So YMMV.

Also, I haven't opened them yet to see if there are any coupons cuz I wanted to wait for someone else to find out first.

I also had no problem getting the $10 off with the coupon. The cashier just took $5 off of Nausicaa and Porco Rosso.

No coupon for a discount on the three new ones. Just a coupon for the by these three and get an original Myazaki for $1.99.

I already own the other three Myazakis.
