Blue Underground two-pack -> $12!

Hadn't seen this posted...

Blue Underground just re-released two of it's lesser known films, crime thrillers REVOLVER and GRAND SLAM, as a two pack. I saw the package at Best Buy today and it is a straight re-shrinkwrap of the two single disk cases with a cardboard band around them. Even better, while BB is charging $15.99 for it, Deep Discount has it for under $12! Good deal if you haven't yet picked these up (and I hadn't.)

I searched at one of the price compare sights for other BU two-packs but couldn't find any. Hopefully, there will be more in the future.

The only other BU two-pack I've been able to find is:
Contamination/The Shape Of Things To Come which is also $11.99 at Deep Discount DVD and $15.99 at Best Buy.

Please post more if found.

Great... I have a sick feeling that every BU disc I have bought in the last year when it first came out will be available in a two pack for one-third of the price. "Grand Slam" is pretty good, "Revolver" is just okay. "Contamination" and "Shape of Things..." are both pretty dull. For 6 bucks a piece, though, you can't really go wrong.

Grr, I would buy this if Contamination and Grand Slam were together. The other two I have no interest in. I hope there are more of these, though. I especially wanted Mark of the Devil recently.

Good question, actually. I was looking at box sets when I found it. Not sure if this is typical of all BBs now, but the one I was in had been re-modeled and now has three aisles (both sides of one aisle, one side of another) of box sets! I found the 2-pack in the "collector's editions" aisle.

Of course, where else would I look for it?

Cameron you may be waiting forever for a reply from BU.
I've written them many times including for missing inserts and other questions I've had for them and I have never received a reply back from them. I spoke with others who have also never heard back from them.
Very poor customer service. I buy most of their discs and they can't take a moment to reply to their customers.
Let me know if you actually hear from them.

I guess that their customer service hasn't hurt sales from you.

I dunno I emailed them about 2 months ago about if they were going to release Jim Van Bebber's "Manson Family" and I got a response within a few days that politely told me that MPI was releasing it. I've also inquired as to the status of Bakshi's "Fire and Ice" and the 2nd Giallo Collection, but they didn't have too much info on those. Seems like they responded to me in an orderly fashion.

So they respond quickly to questions... unless that question concerns a problem with their product.

Aha!

Oh well, they still put out incredible product and give insanely sweet treatments to cinema's underdogs. But I see whatcha mean. I wouldn't exactly expect them to send me a free Franco Nero DVD, but it does tick me off that they made such a big deal about the Spaghetti Western Box (containing exclusive Django movie) and then releasing Django solo with a bonus DVD that's not even in the SW Box. But hell, I'll still keep buying their DVDs.

My E mail to BU

Dear Blue Underground,

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I would like to take the time to thank you for your devotion to cult films and guilty pleasures. I have been thoroughly impressed with your treatment of underground classics. My first trouble came today. I purchased a copy of the Spaghetti Western Collection from DVDSOON.COM, and it arrived in the mail today. When i opened it up I came to the realization that the copy of DJANGO, inside the box set did not include the second disc, The Last Pistolero. Your website does not offer the disc as a stand alone, and still list Django as only available in the box set. Had I known that the second disc was not included in the box set, I would have purchased the four dvd's seperatly. DVDSOON does not allow returns on opened merchandise. This has caused a dilemma for me. I was wondering if you could make the disc available to me free of charge, to complete my set. I do not wish to repurchase a stand alone copy of Django for the bonus disc, but feel that I now have an incomplete collection. Thank you again for your consideration of my request, If your devotion to your customers is half as good as your treatment of films, I am confident that this will be resolved.

Thank you again
Cameron

got this response two days after my e mail was sent

Hello Cameron,

Thanks for your email and purchase of The Spaghetti Western Collection
Box Set. At the time the box set was released, Django was not available
separately. The box set was a limited edition, and once it went out of
print we were able to release Django on its own. At that time, Franco
Nero offered to include his short film The Last Pistolero, which was
included as a bonus disc in a limited number of the Django singles. To
make a long story short, we do not have any copies of The Last Pistolero
disc available on its own to send you. However, we can offer you an
exchange for a copy of Django which includes the extra disc. If you
would like to do this, please mail us your complete copy of Django (hang
on to the other titles from the collection) to the following address:

Blue Underground, Inc.
11271 Ventura Blvd #500
Studio City, CA 91604

Please include your return address info along with a brief note
requesting an exchange for Django with the bonus disc.

Thanks again for your purchase of The Spaghetti Western Collection. We
hope you enjoy it!

Blue Underground, Inc.

Sucks that If I want it I have to shell out for shipping. The Box is out of print, I found it at dvdsoon, for a descent price and if you can find a coupon it is even better...I recieved it in less than a week, so it was in stock....i would grab it quick....copies on amazon and half are close to 150 bucks
