You're right. The $10 isn't a "gift" since you are paying $10 to get the $10 GC. My bad. (I'm ashamed of myself.)

What types of movies does TRU typically carry for good prices? I never shop there and want to figure if it is worth it to me to get the $10 GC if I cannot use it until another purchase.

I'm completely confused. Can you or can't you use the GC to pay for the movies when they come in.

Thanks...

FYI- the preorder is for VHS Bambi or Incredibles, and Full OR Widescreen DVDs for Bambi or the Incredibles. There are different reservation cards for each movie, pick what you wish to get.

Yes you can use the gift card on the movies when they come in, as I said in a previous post a manager I work with said it would be fine (I work at TRU).

This offer is good until February 28th, so all pre-orders must be made before then.

Please clarify: Exactly what is getting a Platinum Edition in October? Is the Incredibles getting a double-dip?

He was speaking in general terms. Last October Disney released "Aladdin" as a Platinum Edition format on DVD and the year before it was the "Lion King." So, he was just saying you could hold the GC for this October when they release some classic Disney movie on DVD as a Platinum Edition.

I kind of like the lithos you can get from the disney store, i know they have them for the incredibles but not sure about bambi, i havent put in my preorders yet. You pay full price but the lithos to me are worth more than the $5 i save. The nemo lithos look great in my sons room. As his "favorite" changes so can the artwork on his wall.

Cinderella for October and Lady and the Tramp for March 2006. With the release of Cinderella, all of the Disney Animated Classics will finally be available on DVD.

I thought Bambi was only going to be Full Screen. Or am I completely wrong and there will be a widescreen edition of Bambi?

I doubt there will be such a thing. Bambi isn't a widescreen picture.

It doesn't say anything about how much I still owe

it should'nt. the amount you owe is on the back of the pre-sale tickets, unless the price is lowered the week of release.

all true. BUT! you paid for that GC so you are actually paying $15 for each movie if it comes out on sale at $14.99.

Check your math.

2x$20=$40
-$10 deposit
$30 owed, $10 put in
-$10 giftcard
$20 owed, $10 put in out of pocket

Price per movie is $15 per.

At $15, then each movie would cost $10 out-of-pocket.

Remember that even though you are putting $5 down for each movie, you are still gonna get $5 MORE off each (or $10 off each total) when you present your pre-order slip and giftcard.

I've got a B.S. in mathematics and what you just did looks fine to me. Hopefully everyone will get on the same page here eventually. Your post should help -- I hope.

You lost me at:

Isn't it that the movies would only cost an additional $10 out-of-pocket, not including the $5 each that you originally paid? I still don't see how you end up paying less than $30 total for both.

they are assuming price will be $14.99 on week of release and using the $10 gift card towards the payment of the dvds when they come in. Price out of pocket would be $20 total ($10 up front and $10 when the dvds come in).
