Got the ad in the mail today.
Go to mylifemycard.com/spoilyourself
Click the search all deals link, and click on "H" to find the deal for Hollywood video. You can print a coupon to buy one previewed movie and receive one free.
You must use your amex card. Good on all previously viewed dvd and vhs movies. Must be equal or lesser value. Says 1 per cardmember but I can't see how they can track that because you can print out as many coupons as you want. Cannot be combined with any other promotions or offers.
Enjoy!

Thanks. That works out to be a better deal than 3/$25.

Never purchased PVDs from Hollywood. Do they also use their own junky cases like BBV does?

Mine uses the original cases minus the insert. I got Adaptation, Big Fish and Chronicles of Riddick: Directors Cut there with the 3 for $25 deal a few weeks back and they were all in great condition.

some stores use regular Keepcases, but most seem to use their own cases that are pretty ugly (they use a purple bar to lock them).Originally Posted by jeffwright

Also, thanks OP for the coupon

Thanks for the heads up. Also of note with Amex, 20% off orders thru 1/31 from www.sonymusicstore.com when using SAVEAMEX. And also, 20% off purchases at Virgin Megastores. . . no indication that it is limited to regularly rip-off priced items.

You probably are limited to one coupon per HV account. Has anyone tried it more than once?Originally Posted by everlast316

You do not need a HV account to purchase PVDs there.

I just checked in on the HV in Chelmsford MA. They had lots each of:
Hero
I, Robot
Collateral
The Terminal
Spiderman 2
All marked at $15. I guess $7.50 each is fair enuff I just didn't want any of them.
They also had a 3 for $30 deal going and 4 for $20 on titles marke $7.99 or less.

Checked out the selection last night. Was going to grab DOTD and Riddick noticed neither were the Directors Cuts so I passed. Coupon is good for a while so will check back for newer releases.

I'm still curious if anyone has tried this out? There's no barcode on the coupon for them to scan and I know with the Chex/Bugles free rentals, they have to fill out some extra paperwork sometimes (depending on who is the CSR). I'll try this out tomorrow and se ehow it goes. Probably pick up Troy and Garden State...

Yeah, they had to do some fiddling with the manager, but I eventually got them to make it work. I've done it twice now and am looking at Napoleon Dynamite and Garden State as a third purchase.Originally Posted by leland

Actually the coupon does have a bar code. I did it at my local Hollywood Video store and the computer automatically accepted the coupon. I had no trouble redeeming this offer, just handed over the coupon, then the credit card, then walked out of the store with two DVDs for one's price.Originally Posted by leland

They must have added the bar code. The first coupon I used did not have coupon, but they took it anyway.

Used this today and picked up Garden State and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. I don't have an account there, so I guess I could print up another one and go get some more, but they didn't really have anything else of interest right now. Maybe in a few weeks when they pull some new titles, I might try it again.

Anyone tried it without an Amex? I doubt their system is smart enough to automatically enforce payment via Amex versus some other method.
