bworrell, I'm pretty sure you know this, but in case you don't : Those reigon free DVDs are PAL encoded.
I didn't order any reigon free DVDs because I don't think PAL DVDs will play on my standard equiptment. Am I right?

edit : Just picked up Ed Wood SE for myself. Amazingly good deal. How on earth can they ship internationally for free? They can't be making money on this deal.

Probably. Some DVD players have built-in PAL/NTSC converters; but if you don't know if yours has one, then it probably doesn't.

For those folks hesitant about ordering from CDWow, I can say I have placed 3 or 4 orders over the past 2 years, and these guys are completely reliable. Their great customer service and fast shipping put most American e-tailers to shame. And, no, these are NOT bootlegs.

In case it is not clear to people, the way CD-Wow's coupons work is that once you click the link, all the prices on the site are shown at $2 off the normal price you would see if you had just gone to their site directly. It doesn't work quite as obviously as on other sites, but the discount is real.

I've placed around 25 orders with CD-wow since May '04, and it's been great. I get all of my orders in seven days or less, and when I email them the average turnaround time for a response is mere minutes, 5-10. The most has been only a few hours.

The only time I've had a damanged item was when it was a loose disc. I emailed them and let them know, and they sent me a replacement that very day. I was told I could keep the damaged one, or send it back in return for coupons and the such.

They get two thumbs way, way up from me.

Placed another order for Disney Treasures Pluto and Donald Duck....$34.90 shipped!!! Thanks yet again for this post. Now I can cancel the above from Amazon. Saved about $13.00 compared to Amazon's price even after stl was applied. I only wish this place would have had MM Living Color Vol 2...will have to leave this on order at Amazon for now. Will be receiving it with some preorders so I still have time to find a better deal.

Ordered

Walt Disney Treasures: The Complete Pluto Vol.1 $15.95
Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse In Black & White Vol.2 $15.95

(not sure why someone else was charged 34.90, I only paid 32.90)

Received my Pluto today, expect Mickey in a day or two.

Pluto was in tin and sealed, looks identical to previous waves except for: there is no belly band. Is this normal with wave 4? Makes it hard to tell on the shelf which one it is. It does have the Limited Edition sticker on the front, identical to Wave 3.

The belly bands were left off these latest releases.

Great prices, though the website runs like a kid with a major limp for me.

$34.90 was my additional order for Pluto and Donald Duck. DD was not $15.95.

BTW...received my 1st order MM B&W Vol. 2 and it is perfect!!! Could care less that there is no blue band around the tin.

There are also some decent prices on SUPERBIT titles. Dracula, Knights Tale, and Desperado are all $10.95 each with the $2 off coupon. They say REGION 3 but they will play on REGION 1 players. Most of the other Superbit Titles range around $14.95-16.95. Anyway I ordered Ed Wood SE , Knights Tale SB, and Dracula SB for a total of $32.85 Shipped! Not too shabby.

Thanks Bill for original post.

Good, they got some Superbits back. They are from HK and will come without a UPC number just to give you a heads up.

Well, I just got my Pluto Treasure today and I'm in the southeast. It came USPS marked Air Mail from Hong Kong..

It doesn't have the canadian flag on the back, so I assume it's the American release. Even though they did a really good job packing it in bubble wrap inside a small box, it still had a barely visible dent on the top rim. I had to actually stare at it for a few seconds to discern it.

pretty happy for the price.. thanks

deal is still alive, i just ordered the tins and ed wood. I hemmed and hawwed about aladdin, but in the end, my inner scrooge took over. Its tough for me to spend more than $10 a flick, it really has to be something i know will hold the value (ala the tins, or a criterion) The bargains forums has made me what I am. Ah the young reckless days of early overstock...
