Saint Tail Vols. 3 and 4 are only $7.18 at DeepDiscountDVD, and are like $10 more than that everywhere else.

I think I'll pass on HMM.

Hey gang. Well, Target messed me over on the Samurai Champloo Dvd and Artbox even though I ordered months and months ago (actually when the original post was made). To make a long story short, I just got an email saying they couldn't deliver to my address (which I had called them weeks ago to straighten out, since my wife and I moved earlier than we expected), so the set was returned to Target and, as the customer service representative informed me, no longer available for sale.

So, I was hoping any of you guys may have a line on where I could get the first disc and artbox for a similar deal. Any thoughts? I'd super appreciate it.

Best,

-B

They do have "Shawne's daily deals" or something like that, and it changes every day. It works similar to Amazon's gold box, where you view one sale at a time, and if you pass on it, you view the next, ten in all, so you can only redeem one per day. Someone on aod forums posts it all the time. Here's today's:

Shawne's Deals of the Day for Friday, January 28 2005 are:

Deal 01: Full Metal Panic Graphic Novel 3 (200 pgs)
$9.99 // $5.99 (40.0%) // $5.39 (46.0%)

Deal 02: Chobits Wall Scroll (31" x 43")
$19.95 // $11.97 (40.0%) // $10.77 (46.0%)

Deal 03: Risky Safety (Omishi Magical Theater) DVD 1 (Hyb)
$29.95 // $17.97 (40.0%) // $16.17 (46.0%)

Deal 04: Black Silk Brocade with Dragons and Medallions Courier^3 Bag
$29.99 // $21.99 (26.7%) // $19.79 (34.0%)

Deal 05: Japanese Tshirt - You Must Be 20 - Yellow - M
$14.95 // $9.95 (33.4%) // $8.96 (40.1%)

Deal 06: Chobits Plush: Atashi (18")
$29.99 // $18.99 (36.7%) // $17.09 (43.0%)

Deal 07: Deus Vitae Graphic Novel 3 (264 pgs)
$9.99 // $5.99 (40.0%) // $5.39 (46.0%)

Deal 09: Toshinden Chromacel (2 girls) (8" x 10")

Hey, spinning plates, I called around and, asisde from being all sold out, every person I spoke to said the artbox vol 1 had never been as low as $19.99. Maybe that was a local thing for you?

Thanks so much, though. I'm still steamed Target messed me over. Grrr.

The cheapest price for Samurai Champloo box is $28.95 shipped from DE. You would probably want to order from Amazon for $29.99 - A9 discount since they have much better CS in case you have to deal with a damaged or less-than-perfect box.

Btw, get it early since it's a LE item and this series seems to be pretty hot.

Thanx Jtnguyen12 - I had previously picked up the set for twentysome dollars & change - just posting for those who might want to inexpensively finish an incomplete set.

Usually, by Wednesday night for the weekly specials. Because on Thursdays, they put out new weekyl specials. It may change now and then because of special events that Shawne and his crew may attend or because of a holiday.

This has got to be a misprint at rightstuf.com:

Lain, Serial Experiments DVD Box Set (1-4) (Hyb)
Retail: $119.98
Your Price: $29.99

I saw the same box at Best Buy B&M for $39.99 and verified the same price online. $120 may be an old MSRP, but I think it got a price reduction on 11 JAN 05.

No, it's not a misprint. It's the original box that's on sale, not the Geneon Signature Series box released a few weeks ago. The box that's on sale at Right Stuf has been OOP for quite some time now and still has that MSRP.

How often does Rightstuf fill backorders?

I ordered a TON of stuff, and nearly all of it is backordered. Some I expect to be filled, like the Escaflowne set, but others, like the .hack Limited Editions and the Lain set, seem unlikely.

Just wondering...

From my experience, Shawne at Rightstuf (who posts frequently on the animeondvd boards) is very meticulous about inventory. So when you order something, there's a good chance you were able to order it because it's still available; stuff that's running out is usually given a stock count on the order page from what I've seen. Backorders have taken up to a couple weeks to ship, but it's worth it for the price you end up paying for the stuff.

WhiteRob: What's the difference in the original box and the Geneon Signature Series?
