Looking for a deal on DVD cases

I need several cases to replace ones with broken cases or that I have purchased via PVD sales. I found this one place http://www.meritline.com but I was wondering if you guys had a better source. I need some standard, some with the second DVD insert.

With PVD, I'll assume that you've been in either a Hollywood Video or BlockBuster. Ask the cashier for some next time you're making a purchase. Or if you see a manager walking around the floor... ask him/her politely. It's even easier if you've already established a friendly relationship with someone there.

If you've already made the purchase and were not planning on more yet... maybe show them your receipt. I stopped by one of my regular BBV last week and picked up 6 dvds during their 3/$25... asked for some original boxes, the friendly girl asked how many I'd like... naturally, the more the merrier. She gave me 12.

There's always the retail store route. I've never bought them, so couldn't tell you where the best prices are. And then there's always the eBay route.

Good luck!

There's a whole forum devoted to this ... if you go to the main "DVD talk" area, there's a sub-area for cases and covers. Check it out, a lot of great stuff in there.

Yeah...checking the DVD CASES forum probably would have been a good bet. But I just bought 50 dual-dvd cases from Meritline and was impressed. They are of good quality and were shipped quite fast. I'd highly recommend them.

Oh yeah...they were quite cheap too.

I buy dvd cases through www.inetdvd.com. They have a nice selection of both alpha and amaray keepcases, and in a variety of colors.

I've bought from www.meritline.com numerous times and always have been very happy. What you don't want to do, is buy a bunch of cases off of Ebay. I bought some about 5 months ago, and when I got them, about half of them were cracked and they were totally different cases than described in the auction. It wasn't worth my trouble to go through the whole Ebay thing. They were only $20 or something shipped.

Never had a problem with Meritline.

Dumpsters... learn when your local BBV or HV takes their cases out to the dumpster, than your set to smash n' grab, (or just grab) For ex my expected pick-up of Troy double-cases is approx 12 noon today.

are BBVs generally friendly towards people wanting their cases? are they happy to point ppl to their next stash of cases, or is this simply one man's garbage another man's treasure?

Absolutely not. They are normally real jerks about it. They once offered to sell me some of their used BBV cases. I said no thanks, those cases they use are total junk.

definitely a YMMV situation. Some CSRs are nice, others aren't. It's easiest to find out the day that they toss their cases and get them then.

I've never had a problem getting cases from BlockBuster. I've probably received over 75 the last year and a half and find that it usually depends upon YOUR demeaner.

Of course, I was in a BB a couple of weeks ago that I had never been in before and they had a big bin of cases with a sign that said: 2 for $1.

Still a great deal when you think about it, though.

On site that works for me is www.shop4tech.com.

They sell single or double cases as little as .12 each for 2000 cases or a max. of .35 each for 25 cases with other prices in between.

Shipping is even free!

I will also warn against ebay for dvd cases. I have had nothing but bad luck. It is just not worth it to me.

Ditto on Shop4Tech. I like their slim DVD cases.

You can often find a 10% discount coupon at some of the bargain sites.

With the trade-ins popular now, when I buy a PV movie, I usually ask if I can switch the rental case with one of the ones that were traded in (still intheir original case). The guys at Blockbuster see no reason why I can't, so I do.
