Cheapest deal to date on Simpsons S5
I have been looking for the cheapest way to get Simpsons Complete Season 5. I don't know if best buy will have their buy s5 and other seasons to get discount sale next week so I have S5 my cart at coconuts.com. This way beats STL and the cheapest price on dvdpricesearch.
They are offering it for $34.99 with a $7 rebate and you can use the coupon for 10% and free shipping FIRSTPURCHASE (can be used more than one order).
Cost $24.49 shipped plus $.37 for rebate and possible tax for your area. (34.99-10%-$7 rebate)

Keep in mind that to redeem a coconuts.com rebate you will either have to (1) cut off the UPC or (2) go to a store an ask them for a price sticker, which may not work, and you'll be left with (1).

Seasons 2-4 are $39.99 each.
you could always buy 2 copies of season 5 which would make them $24.99 each.

My hope was that I would be able to do both but I know that is YMMV situation.

I plan to use 1 of my last 3 Madden 20% off coupons to get the Simpsons S5 for $23.99. Unfortunately there are no other Tuesday releases I want. I hate using 1 of these beloved coupons for only 1 DVD, but since nobody is sure if the Madden coupons expire on 12/31/04 or March 2005 I have to assume 12/31/04 in which case there's no reason to save it for later when there's more stuff I want. If they won't take my Madden coupon, I'll pass for now. After the sales on past seasons, I decided $24.99 is my top price on any Simpsons sets.
That said, once I have to shrinkwrap off Simpsons S5, Fry's or Costco will probably have it for $19.99 soon after, but I do the best I can at the moment. Unlike most of my DVDs which set on the shelf for months before I get around to opening them, I typically watch my Simpsons sets right away because they were so good throughout the 90s. The new episodes are pretty weak, and at their current rate of season set releases, the DVD format will probably be obsolete long before they get anywhere near releasing season 16.

In regards to the Target PM, I'm not positive but I think that it would work. Target has Simpsons Season 4 for $29.99 this week. If you do the PM at the regular registers, I think that the computers will still take $5 off of each set. (I did this once before with Futurama but I'm not sure if it will work on this deal. I'd say most likely but there's a chance that it won't).

Another vote for the Madden coupon... have a couple more of these saved up for such occasions... get the set for 24 plus tax... and dont have to hassle with rebates

Dabaomb, thanks for the suggestions. I looked carefully through this week's Best Buy ad at all the $9.99 titles, and there isn't a single one I want that I don't already have, even with the 20% off coupon (making them $7.99). I've looked at their $5.99 bin recently and it's the same story... like Walmart's bin I don't know anything about at least 95% of the movies so I skip them, and the rest I already own or didn't like when I saw them. Since Best Buy opens at 8am this week and I won't get there until 9am on Tuesday, I wonder if they will sell out of Simpsons S5 or if it will be dead there that early.
Does anyone know what Costco's Simpsons S5 price is going to be on Tuesday?
