Freaks and Geeks for $30
a while back, someone posted a deal for Freaks and Geeks at DVDpacific.com. the dvd goes for around $28 and shipping is around $4. many posted that this site was unreliable, oftentimes resulting in weird charges on the CC.
anyways, i got this DVD with a price match at DDD. F&G isnt listed on the DDD website so i called them and asked them to PM this deal. the CSR told me they werent getting any in until december 10th, but i placed an order anyway. she rounded the price to an even $30 (tax and shipping included) and am happy to report it came in the mail today.
i know some of you were interested in taking advantage of this deal but were hesitant to buy at dvdpacific. the deal is still available, just call up DDD.

Nice! I might have to do that. Not sure why no one thought of this before.

^^ FYI.. the problems weren't about receiving orders. The problems were with credit card numbers being stolen.
Oh, and it is on the website you have to use "Freaks & Geeks" not 'and.' Anyway here is the DVDTalk link to it: Freaks & Geeks

dvdpacific unreliable? Never heard that. They did have a problem that their cc database was hacked and they have taken measures to see that it doesn't happen again but those thing can happen to just about every other store.

DVD Pacific let thieves steal our money for over a month without warning a soul. They would rather call posters on forums liars, than to take a "better safe than sorry" approach. F them.

I tried to pricematch this at DeepDiscountDVD, and this is the reply I got:
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?!?! So not only are they not honoring their own policy, they're now judging things are "pricing errors" on other companies' sites? What a pain in the ass.
Thank you for contacting DeepDiscountDVD.com!
At this point, we are not able to authorize a price match for this item. This appears to be an error on the competitor's website, as they presently have the item in question listed at less than half of the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. We will be investigating this further to settle this matter.

^yeah, i agree, they have some nerve....and are they not aware that almost every dvd ordering site online has already ran most of the Fox First Season Sets for 14.99...as much as 75% off retail? They must be IDIOTS to not be aware of this.

DDD.com paid the higher price for the sets and would have to take a significant loss on each set if they Price-Matched them.
DDD.com is a great retailer so I would cut them some slack on this one.

strict policy over at DDD
i noticed that as well. those at DDD attach all sorts of rules to their price match policy. it really defeats the purpose of priding themselves of having the lowest price anywhere online. i actually sent them an email too to PM F&G and they never responded. so i called them and spoke to a nice rep and she made it happen. i also wanted her to PM a preorder (24 S3) which she denied (because DDD dont PM preorders) and Gilmore at Costcos, which was also denied (because they dont PM member prices). i even explained to her that you really dont need to be a member to buy at costcos.com (theres an additional non-member surcharge) but they still refused it.
give them a call, you may get lucky. its better than the slow email service that may or may not be answered.
