Wasn't this site closing down in the summer? It's still up?

Hi

Thanks for the heads up. Will be sure to update my wishlist.
The site will remain open after all. Do a search for "half" or something related and all you need to know will come up.

Nope. Dec. 31st. But they have had a change of heart.. or too many complaints. So they are keeping it open.

They probably decided the site is making too much money to close it down. If Half wasn't making a profit all the complaints in the world wouldn't have saved it.

I think $1 per title can be a lot, especially for me since most of the books and cds on my wishlist are $5 and under. I've never taken part of this sale before, but it seems there has to be a minimum price for this to take effect. Or else a percentage off like someone else posted.

You're sure right there, especially as most of the stuff on my wish list is rarely more that 30% off.

I'm glad to hear this. I have to say as a Half.com seller that my sales have been less than spectacular as of late in comparison to Amazon.

In my particular case it's books I will buy — and with hardcovers shipping at 3.25 each, I consider it bringing my shipping down by 1/3! Good 'nuff for me, especially since it can be used multiple times.

Hi

How do you find out about half.com promotions?
I logged in my account and can't find a "newsletter" sign up of any kind?

Thanks

They sent it in an email. I don;t know what amount or percentage it'll be. All I know is that it'll only count for items on your wishlist.

Well I guess since I didn't receive the Half.com email I won't be able to go deeper in debt.

No problem. I'll wait for a $5 off $10. My poor long-suffering credit card is actually grateful to be given a reprieve!

Just because you didn't receive the e-mail promotion may not indicate you are exempt from the offer. I would suggest adding a few things to your wish list just in case.

Oh LASER, my Half.com Wishlist has been maintained at over 50 items (some of them even DVD's! LOL) for well over five years.

And yes, I was shameless and tried anyway, placing a juicy hardcover in my cart. No love.

After spending $131.02 at DDD (I'm not complaining! I'm not complaining!) I really and truly do not need another temptation.

It's going to be very very difficult for me to resist showing up at [a certain office supply store] on BF at 7:00 a.m. to snag two of the cherry wood 168-DVD racks it is rumored they will have for 24.99, reduced from 49.99.

But I will. I've got my thermos ready LOL.

Yeah, I saw this email and added some books to my list (and a couple of cheap games). I remember the last whislist sale was a bit insignificant, though.

I'll pass on the wish list sale unless I find something worthwhile to purchase.
