When you go to the site. You will see Movies in blue and Games in another color at the top center.

Hit movies.

Type in the movie you are interested in Hit enter or whatever.

Then when it pulls up the movie you will see the cover art.

You will also see the title next to the cover art hyperlinked in blue. Hit that title and then it will take you to the information for the movie. It will have Add to Queue (sp) or Buy it Now.

Hit Buy it Now.

Hi Guys,

First I'd like to say thanks for starting this thread and adding all this great info. I went to my local Blockbuster on the original date for the trade in deal and they were not doing it. Well, yesterday I went by and they had a big sign up in the window saying Trade in your DVDs $8.00 minimum*. I ran home and weeded through my collection. A quick trip back and about a 1]2 hour later I had $400.00 on my account and 2 value cards with $500.00 on one and $433.00 on the other! $1333.00 in trade in value. Weeeeeehoo!

Thanks again. MB

master69. Just out of curiousity. You just traded in more DVD's than I have in my entire collection right now. 160+ Care to elaborate on which ones? It may be worth a trip to Oregon.

Someone stated earlier to put the credit from your valuecard to "your account" at the store and then purchase gift cards from the store.

if you want a rambling detailed paragraph go to my post on page four.

But in short, you might get lucky with getting the gift card with a value card, but if you are not lucky tell them to put your value card balance onto your account. When it is on the account tell them to put your account balance on one of the 6016 scratch off pin number cards.

Wow. And I thought I had a lot to trade with 20 or so. Which Blockbuster? Hope it's not the Coburg road one because their manager is the devil.

With that much credit you could by 3 PS2s and sell them for cash instead of BBV credit.

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd take a minute to answer a few questions. I still have about 1300 dvds
in my collection. (Way too many, my wife would say). Second, I'd say the ones I traded in were very weak. Most of them were purchased for less than 8.00 each. About half I picked up for 3.00 each at a garage sale, about 1/4 for 6.00 each at pawn shop type places and the rest from Hollywood Video at their 3 for 25.00 sales. Third and last, I traded them in at the River Road Blockbuster in Eugene. The day manager, while not a devil woman, is about as dumb as dirt. Thankfully, she was on her way out the door and a night manager was coming on. He was great and even thanked me for bringing in the dvds. There are a few problems though. Our Blockbusters don't carry video game systems anymore. I really wanted one of the new PS2s. They do carry gaming accessories. The one by my house also don't carry new video games for sale (too many ripped off, I was told). They have about 5 new movies for sale and that's it. They will, however let me order dvds through their system. Unfortunately they will only let me order ones that have been released. No pre-orders unless they are doing a promotion ("Sheck 2" or the upcoming blockbuster "Dodgeball") Oh well, I guess I'll just have to figure a way around the system to get the items I want. I'm pretty sure some of the other Blockbusters in my area have a bigger selection of new items.

Later, MB

master69 -- Try the Blockbuster on Royal (near Bi-Mart)...the folks who work there are very nice (and they do pre-orders!)

And tasha99, thanks for the warning about the Colburg store... only stopped there once or twice on the way back home from Borders, but I'll avoid it from now on.

So far:
DEEP IMPACT (Special Collector's Edition) . . . 12.99
INDEPENDENCE DAY (Limited Edition) . . . 19.99

Not a great price on ID but DI (hey, that's creepy LOL) was a very good price (for Blockbuster I mean).

PEACH

I'm not sure what would possess someone to turn in the Toy Story 1/2 two-pack for $8 credit, or what would possess Blockbuster to turn around and sell it for $12.99, but as long as I'm the beneficiary, I don't care.

Actually, I only paid $10 for it, since their 2/$20 deal is still in effect.

Wow, awesome find (assuming good condition) - I once bought a mint Blackhawk Down Deluxe (3-disc) for $6 at a pawn shop, which means someone sold it to them for $2-3. Some people just don't know any better.

This is great...I went through and first took out what I doubted i'd ever watch again. Then I went back and looked at what had upgraded editions...I had overflowing shelves, now I have a little bit of room and 37 DVD's to take to Blockbuster...

I'm planning to pick up Invisable Man Legacy ($21.99) Creature Legacy ($21.99) (I'll snag Mummy Legacy at BB for $15.99)
the Aladdin Gift Set ($41.99), Family Guy V2 ($41.99) ...that still leaves me with about $168 & I'm hoping I can pre-order the Ultimate Matrix Set (with bust, list $129.99)!

Are you going to get Family guy on line or instore.

In Store it is 39.99. Is it 41.99 online?

If you find it in store, get it there as online you will pay shipping and taxes.

Only get online, what you cannot find in store (usually box sets are cheaper in store). (here in the state I live in it is 5% tax in store. not sure what it is in the state you live but I am sure it is cheaper than going to their site and buying it with shipping and tax.

I've been picking up mainly Disney titles during this deal. Those are about the only DVDs they carry that are priced competitively. I was able to special order the OOP Sleeping Beauty, which was nice.

The prices on the website are definitely not the same as the in-store prices. I bought Futurama Vol. 3 for about $39. They had volumes 2 and 4 for $70 each. Twenty bucks above retail didn't seem like much of a deal to me. I think all three volumes are $42 on Blockbuster's site. I'll check the prices on those again next time I go in case they drop to a sane level.

Dang it. I just sold about 140 DVDs to a guy at the flea market for $3 each. Oh well, I can go through my collection again and get rid of some more crap.

Thanks I was going by online price assuming it would be same as in store. I might not pre-order Matrix, because list price at $130, and DDD has it at like $95 and there's %10 off code in this forum...so tha'll free up another $130...Prob get Halo2, ROTK:EE and see what PVD's they have...

I bought about 5 titles at a pawn shop for $2.99 and traded them in at blockbuster.

I was so scared cause I didn't know if they were stolen or not! BB could send their lists to the cops and five of those discs be mine and they come to my door!

Hasn't happened yet though...

For those who get the gift card that's useable at Blockbuster.com, I saw that the first seasons of Da Ali G Show and The Office are 21.99 each, which even with shipping is really not out of line.
