Good job on the box sets, though.
Finally hit the jackpot on the boxsets today. Here is how it rang up. There is definitely a flaw in their system.

Mickey Mouse In Living Color Tin - $14.99
Buffy - Season 5, 6 Discs - $14.99
Buffy - Season 1, 3 Discs - $19.99
Sex & City - Complete 5th Season - $29.99
Sex & City - Complete 4th Season - $29.99
Mickey's Magical Christmas - $9.99
Coupon - ($10.00)
Coupon - ($30.00)
Coupon - ($20.00)
Subtotal - $59.94
Tax - $ 4.20
Total - $64.14

Everything was mint once I opened it except for the Magical Christmas DVD. I took everything up to the register and asked the guy if all PRVs were 2 for $20. He rang all of them up first and scanned the 2 for $20 barcode 3 times. Didn't have to punch anything in or call the manager. Definitely YMMV but Happy Hunting!!

Picked up another TV season tonight:

King of the Hill Season 1
Intolerable Cruelty
2/$20.

I also looked at the disclaimer for the 2 for $20 - and it excludes previously rented box sets and DVDs $19.99 or higher. So technically, any traded-in DVD should be eligible.

The manager is a friend of mine and he told me there were never any boxsets involved in the 2 for $20 deal.

I couldn't find a single box in my search, so you guys must be getting these deals in the larger stores.

I was able to pick up:
Dogma SE
Heroic Duo
Big Trouble in Little China SE (DTS)
XMen Collection

All were in pristine collection.

Well, they need to fix that in their computer because after reading that disclaimer, I went back to another store and snagged the Indiana Jones Trilogy and The Cooler for $20. If they don't want boxsets to be included, they need to flag them in the computer or put on that clear tape mentioned earlier in the thread.

I went to the one in Daly City on Mission Street (El Camino turns into Mission). Can't get the exact address because the blockbuster website is down for maintenance.

But um...it's in a shopping center across the street from Jefferson High School and has a TK Noodle House, Jollibee's and Q-Cup there. I think there's also a Safeway or Albertson's, not sure which one.

Absolutely no used Box Sets at any of the Blockbusters here in San Jose, but I think I may have made up for it.

Found the original Criterion Collection of the Killer, with the disc in perfect shape and the outside almost flawless. Wow, first of all, I cant believe someone would trade this in, and then only $9.99 is what Blockbuster wanted for it.

I think we have a winnah...

Frosted center rings? Those are going about $200-250 on eBay.

Now start looking for Salo - maybe the same guy traded it in...

Has anyone seen the Hellboy Limited Gift Set (with statue) at any Blockbuster stores in Orange County, CA? I've checked at about 5-6 locations in the area and none of them have it. I'm looking to use some of my Blockbuster credit on this.

Why don't you have them order it?

BTW, Which has been the best BBV you have found for trading in? For me it was the one on Jamboree and Irvine Blvd.

Most stores hide the boxsets back behind the counter, with the new ones - some of the employees don't even know (or pretend not to know) that they are trade-ins.

The low rent BBV's have the box sets behind the counter.

Usually BB's have four or five lock cases beside or above the new dvds that house the box sets.

I hate those things, cause those MFer's put the prices on the bottom right and the right side of the case gets put in the back. So you have to ask them to look it up. If you want it, it takes them 5 minutes to find the right key to unlock whichever case the set is in.

I finally saw a Box Set in the PVD section... The Shield. Not interested in it though. Also surprised to see someone traded in the Memento Limited Edition. If i didn't already have it, it would have been a great deal.

Anyway, picked up Mulan today for 21.99. Still got 10 bucks credit left, with maybe one or two dvds i'm thinkin about trading in.

I've bought some Xbox games and just picked up a new Christmas Collection that includes 5 classics: Rudolph/Frosty 1 & 2/Santa Claus Comin to Town/ & the Little Drummer Boy. It was only $24.99 (saw it at Target for $39.99 and it's on Amazon for $29.99.

I did see it at the Blockbuster at 495 E-17th Street in Costa Mesa; it was sitting by the cash register.

No preorders.. :(

I went into the Blockbuster on 700 North State Street in Chicago and was told that they don't do preorders...and that no Blockbuster does them anymore (unless there's a giftcard for them to scan, like Shrek 2).

Any thoughts on how to handle this? This is the only BB in walking distance to me.

My plan was to use the credit to pay for a couple months of the in store monthly rental program ($15 first month, $25 every month after that). The employee let me use my credit to buy the first month, but made me sign up with a credit card and said the program would automatically bill to my CC to renew future months, I couldn't use store credit for that. Was kind of disappointed to hear that as that was my whole reason for trading dvds in - especially since I can only do the $5/dvd thing here, not $8.
