Friday the 13th Collection

Here are some prices/incentives for the set:

Best Buy
$57.99 w/ bonus disc showcasing Jason's actors at a Fangoria convention.

Circuit City
$54.99

Target
$59.99

How dissapointing. I at least thought the set could be found for under $50.

The inevitable DDD sale might be a good time to pick it up.

Thank God for Blockbuster's mistake with listing it for $26.99... heh heh heh... awww...

If Paramount does a price drop on this set in the future (which I don't see happening until next fall), the MSRP probably will go down to around $64.99 or so. The current MSRP for the set is $89.99 and with that you get eight movies and a bonus disc with almost three hours of material on it (that's around $11 a movie considering extras are free).

I'm still debating whether to pick this up or not. I have the Madden 20% off Best Buy coupon still....which would make it $46, but I just have a feeling inside of me that this will be re-released again sometime in the future.....Just seems like a shoddy job they did on it. 2-movies on one disc....just wrong.

DJ - I'm with you on that. I have a 20% coupon put away for this set as well. I guess if another release happens, I could always trade/eBay this set. $46 isn't too bad.

Heck, maybe I can buy it, then find a way to PM w/ Target for a little more savings.

Box set is now $52.19 @ Best Buy. They have all their Halloween-oriented box sets 10% off.

That's much better.
But is this an "online only" price since the new Weekly Ad lists it at $57.99?

I'm guessing that BB will price match CC for 54.99 and you can still get their bonus disc since i did that with Indy trilogy. Does BB also do the extra 10% over price match like CC?

Are you another blockbuster employee who doesn't understand how to special order a DVD?

Is that "in store" or online? The bestbuy ad doesn't reflect that price?

It's probably wise to order online and choose "In Store" pickup to gurantee that price.

Just tried this and I get "the store locator isn't currently working. Try again later"

It's been awhile since I shopped their online site, so this may have changed, but I believe you can't choose in-store pick up on a pre-order anyway. Try again when it's available in stores, which would be Tuesday.

it's irrelevant now since the price was corrected in their systems a long time ago.

is the exclusive Best Buy disc that comes with the Friday the 13th set, only available in limited quantities just for the release week. or will it be like sleepaway camp set where they packaged the exclusive bonus disc only with copies of the set that were at Best Buy?

Yeah i've wondered that about the disc as well, if its like the indy trilogy and just sorta taped to the back, i will go ahead and pick this up and just hold onto it for a while and see how limited it gets. Cause i'm hating paying 50+ for this, since i wasnt one of the people who "acquired" a madden coupon

went to best buy to check out the bonus disc, and on the package itself there is no sign of the disc, no sticker advertising it or the disc itself taped to the back (like indy tril) so asked the sales person was it in the package or did they have them behind the counter, she had absolutley no idea what i was talking about, so i just gave up. probably just gonna wait for the price to drop on this

It's inside the back shrink rap under a replacement back piece of paper. Both the front (small yellow/black square sticker) and the replacement back (bottom left corner under the knife) state the Bonus disc is included. You can also feel it under the replacement back its just in a cd sleeve between the replacement back and the back of the box.

My BB had 6 on the shelf 3 had the disc, and the other 3 did not. So just pay attention to the package and you should be okay.
