wait, I misread this. This is a FRIGGING GREAT offer.

At amazon, with STL, it is $78 minus about $8 = $71.

With this offer, it is $78 + $1 shipping - $25 = $54 net cost.

No, your net cost is still around $79 out of pocket. You can get something for the coupon but you are still paying $79.

as far as I'm concerned $25 in digidollars is the same as $25 in cash. that is why I put NET COST.

Anyway, I just cancelled my Amazon order. BUT while cancelling it, I noticed that my STL had been jacked from my order, leaving it there as FULL PRICE.

Whatever you want to believe. But you are still paying $79 out of pocket net. That's the marketing scheme.

That's a pretty good deal. I just checked a few other sites and Costco and Circuit City didn't have any real deals as of yet...

If that were really the case, then you wouldn't mind converting the contents of your checking account into digidollars.

then when you use the $25 GC, dont tell yourself it was free (whatever it was that you bought with it). you will have already spent it on the seinfeld gift set. cant spend it twice.

Don't forget tax on this. Tax and shipping put it at over $81 for me. Still prolly a good deal if you are positive you'll buy something at Best Buy in the next couple of weeks. Personally, I'll take the Amazon STL price and lose the roughly $15 dollar net coupon to not have to shop at BB to use the coupon.

It's better if you don't have a Best Buy in your state or don't have to pay sales tax. For me it worked out to be like $86, and subtracting the $25 Digital Dollars it would be about $61, or what DDD or another web vendor will have it at assuming we see 20% off sales before Christmas.

Well after the tax and shipping it works out to be $60 for the set and I have $25 to spend online.

It is a marketing trick, but I know Best Buy will have some good deals online down the line.

Thanks!!

Seinfeld Digital Coupon Offer

Limit: one Digital Coupon offer per person (purchaser's e-mail address). Qualifying purchase transaction must be made online by 11:59 p.m. CT 11/20/04. Promotional code will be sent via e-mail on or about 11/30/04 for use on a future purchase. Coupon will expire upon redemption or by 11:59 p.m. CT 12/11/04, whichever comes first. Full value of Digital Coupon must be used within a single transaction; remaining value will not be saved for future use.

In other words, you'll have less than 2 weeks to use the digital coupon.

The real question is whether or not this will be cheaper when it comes out. Best Buy will adjust their price down if their advertised price is cheaper; this might be enough to overcome the tax issue.

Well Spiderman 2 comes out November 30th, you can use the $25.00 coupon to buy that. If you don't like Spiderman 2 then I'm sure there will be tons of other stuff available at that time.

I think I might jump on this, thanks!

So they all have the same extras as the Amazon Seinfeld Gift Set (Seasons 1-3 with Original Script, Salt & Pepper Shakers, and Playing Cards)?

My Amazon order is $70.17 after STL but I also have to factor in the 3% I earn towards an Amazon GC since I use the Amazon VISA to pay for orders there. It's getting to be actually less than $10 difference from Best Buy when you consider taxes, shipping etc.

EDIT: The OP's post is for the gift set with the salt & pepper shaker, script, playing cards, etc. My math is for the season sets by themselves.

Amazon has the season sets by themselves for $32.47 each (35% off). With STL they are $29.22 each. $29.22 * 2 = $58.44 for both.

The Gift set at Amazon is $77.97. With STL it's $70.17

For me at BestBuy.com it would be:
1) Gift Set: $77.99 + $1.25 S&H + 8.625% Tax = $86.07 before the digital coupon. Assuming that my item was exactly $25 (which it won't be), my total would be $86.07 - $25 Digital Coupon + $1.25 S&H (in this case it might be worth it if I was set on getting the gift sets)

2) Individual Sets: $32.99 + $2.50 S&H + 8.625% Tax = $74.39 before $10 Digital Coupon. Assuming that my item was exactly $10 (which it won't be), my total would be $74.39 - $10 Digital Coupon + $1.25 S&H (in this case it might be worth it definitely wouldn't be worth it)

Good point, I didn't realize you could get them separate from the gift pack for $11.73 less.

Maybe I don't need the salt and pepper shakers, script and playing cards that much after all (I still haven't used my Showgirls deck from that gift set).
