Trade-ins at FYE
I have an FYE at my nearby mall, which takes used dvds and cds. I was wondering how good they are about taking them, like the kinds of prices they give for used stuff and all of that. Has anyone done this kind of thing before with FYE?

I'll try to answer your question Camikaze before some of the more "seasoned" dvdtalkers hurt your feelings. I have traded cd's (for credit) at Fye many times. This was an awesome deal when they were offering the generous rebates. The most I ever received for any one cd was $5.00. Usually I would get $2-3$. I have yet to try and sell any dvd's. For future reference, unless it is a bargain, I would not post it in this forum. Hope this helped.

DVD Talk Gold Edition
It depends on the titles. Some of the more recent stuff will get you more than others. I received $7 in store credit for the previous edition of Born on the Fourth of July (which is now OOP because of the upcoming special edition), for instance. $8 for Gladiator. But just $1.50 for Die Another Day. $5 for the special edition of The Net.
I can't speak for other Fye stores, but the guy who handled my DVDs did an atrocious job. He lifted each disc out of the tray as if he were dealing with hamburger patties or something. And if there was any dust or something that he thought might affect the playing quality, he rubbed against his shirt to wipe it off. Then he slapped the disc back into the tray. He must've added scratches and fingerprints that weren't on there. Grrrrrr!
All in all, they took in all the DVDs I brought in and gave me $40 in credit.
