Thanks for posting. Some good deals there on some largely underappreciated films.

Keeping my fingers crossed that The Late Shift (HBO movie about the Letterman & Leno late night battle) will eventually make it to DVD. With all that are coming out from HBO, it wouldn't surprise me.

Great to see the made-for-HBO movie THE PERFECT WITNESS finally showing up on DVD. Very well done and tense thriller about an ordinary guy who witnesses a mob hit.

I'm pretty sure that Norma Jean & Marilyn has Ashley Judd nudity.

The only absolute two must-haves are

Citizen X
This film stars Stephen Rea & Donald Sutherland. It's a true story about Russia's most notorious serial killer, who claimed over 50 victims. It's feature film quality and should belong in every DVD library.

Path to War
Michael Gambon plays LBJ. John Frankenheimer's last film. If you liked George Wallace (also directed by Frankenheimer) then you'll love this.

Not necessary, but great selections nonetheless:

Norma Jean & Marilyn
Fantastic performances from the two leads.

Breast Men
David Schwimmer & Chris Cooper. It's a goofy title, but it's a decent film. I still think Schwimmer is the only Friend's star that deserve's a serious career in feature films. After seeing him in this and NBC's miniseries Uprising I realized he's a disciplined, skilled actor.

If These Walls Could Talk
Demi Moore gives her best performance to date, in my opinion.

I'd add *61 to that list. It's maybe the best historical baseball film since "Pride of the Yankees" and both leads are really good in it.
It also has some nice extras with a Billy Crystal commentary and a feature-length making-of doc.

If I didn't already own Citizen X, I would buy it.

The picture is not that good, the special features suck, but damn the movie is good.

i personally recommend WHEN TRUMPETS FADE if you like WWII or war movies. Also, if you like animation, the SPAWN flicks are good.

Thanks, cupon, for the tip on Norma Jean & Marilyn. I placed my order last Sunday with DDD and they have sent me an email that they have shipped it today(Saturday) to arrive on or very close to the 09/14 DVD release date.

It's been a while since I have seen it, but I liked Afterburn. Of course, I also happen to think Laura Dern is hot, so I may have been biased.
