This post would be a lot easier to read if you associated the price with the movie list that it represents. Like this:
$115.99
The World at War
$95.99
FarScape S3
$43.99
The Munsters S1
Night Gallery S1
etc.

Question: Has anyone tried to fool the Best Buy registers with the TV Boxsets before?
For example, Futurama V4 is $32.99. But the ads (we think) state that if you buy 4 Futurama boxsets implying you buy Vol. 1,2,3, and 4, you get $40 off. (3 boxes = $20 off, 2 boxes = $10 off)
But are BB's registers coded to prevent you from buying say, 4 copies of V4 and getting the $40 off?

By the way, while Best Buy has the American exclusive on those "Midnight Movies", they are available from Canadian sites. For example, DVD Soon currently offers those double features at 10.77, which is about what you'd be paying after sales tax...

With The Girl Next Door, the person who said it is $17.99 said that was the price at Circuit City. Thus, you can expect it to be listed next to Purple Rain and/or Ella Enchanted in Sunday's CC flyer.
No one has yet said a price for Best Buy - but expect it to be either $17.99 or $14.99 there. Because if it was $19.99, they probably would list the price and not "Hot Price." When you see the BB flyer, if it's next to Dogville, expect it to be $17.99. If it's near Graffiti Bridge, Under the Cherry Moon, and/or Witchboard, expect the price to be $14.99.
Or you could also cheat and check BestBuy.com, which usually lists the sale price a few days before a disc's release. The site is currently showing $17.99 for GND. Expect that to be the price on it there, as well. But with a free Maxim DVD, apparently.
So just because a disc is listed as a "Hot Price" doesn't necessarily mean it'll be $14.99 or $15.99. It just means the store's price is below the studio's MAP for that title.

I usually do the price match thing anyway at BB to get the reward pts when CC is the cheapest, but I really don't see how CC stays in business...

If a store wants to charge less than the MAP for a particular disc, they can't list the price in the flyer, so they put something like "Low Price" or "Hot Price" in place of an actual price. Usually, you can tell the LP/HP by looking at the prices of the discs near it. That's the store's way of "secretly" giving away the price without breaking their contract with the studio (i.e going below the MAP).

All the other titles are MGM so that's what it should be.
