I used the coupon "15offUsed" to order some DVDs last month, and it was supposed to expire 11/15. Has the expiration been extended until 12/15, or has the code been refreshed so that everyone can use it again between 11/15 and 12/15?

Simply put, would the system accept the code a second time?

How is DE with discontinued titles that are listed as "Shipping Status - On Order With Manufacturer". If I order, is there a chance I will get it or would I just be wasting DE's and my time?

Are these titles offered at DigitalEyes?

Side question - anyone know how long it takes for DE to process used DVDs that you've sent in? According to my deliv confirmation, they received it 1 week ago, but I haven't even had an email saying that they got it. To compare, secondspin received a group at the same time... and I have a check in hand.

In my experience, if the title is listed as "temporarily sold out" then you can expect the order to be filled eventually -- usually within a week or so. However, if you know the title to be discontinued and the listing says, "On Order With Manufacturer," then it probably will never be filled. An order can sit in queue for a couple months before the sytem finally tells you that it cannot be obtained. Your best bet is to make a quick call to the 800 number. The folks on the phone sometimes have more up-to-date information.

I've just returned from out of town and found out about the double frequent buyer points. There are a quite a few titles I've been borderline about getting that double points would push me over the fence to buying but it is stated that it only counts for orders "shipped" by 11/21. Is it really ship date and not order date (since obviously we have no control over when an order gets shipped)? And if it is shipped date, is there any point in placing an order now because it probably isn't going to ship in time since the last 2 days of the promo are a weekend?

No code required, it is automatic. But the problem (at this point) is stated above.

Yes.

It is a double edged sword, the when it ships issue. It excludes preorders, but I ended getting double for a big order I placed before double points was announced. It seems reasonable to me, they usually ship pretty quick, so as long as it is in stock, you just need to order at least two days before the sale ends usually.

It would make more sense to just exclude pre-orders, if that is the goal. I prefer not to gamble.

Exactly. At least in my opinion, you are bound to end up angering some customers whose order is a couple days later than normal in shipping and so they don't get the double points. Of course it is going to look like the order was shipped later than normal so the double points wouldn't have to get paid out. Some people will see it that way, you know they will. Also, you can just "order at least two days before the sale ends" because as I mentioned above, the last two days of the promotion fell on a weekend. So, I agree, why hold customers hostage to a date they have no control over. It would be better to just exclude pre-orders if that was the reason and change it to be based on order date. Had it been done that way, I would have gone ahead and order several titles which I didn't. Oh well, maybe next time...
