All of these are pre-Planet Of The Apes book release.
Sort of how Wolverine and The Punisher would be injected into 1980s and 1990s Marvel comics to boost sales and draw attention to struggling books. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...71c6d94ed6.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...b49ce4bbd5.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...45e4d1b146.jpg (Canceled at issue thirteen. Not even the trifecta of The Punisher, Wolverine, and Ghost Rider could save that turd.) |

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
My first ever issue of a Twomorrows publication that I bought in a comic shop when I took my then 3-year-old son into a comic shop for the first time. He's 20 now.
Such a great magazine. I then went and subscribed to their parent magazine Alter Ego right after. I noticed Breyfogle's art and then his name (my favorite Batman artist of all time) and bought it immediately. Now tons of money and magazines later and I am still a loyal subscriber! https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.ne...00/1109659.jpg If you enjoy comic history at all, you should subscribe too! www.twomorrows.com |
Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
That's a good mag (Alter Ego as well).
Back when I was really heavy into comics as a teen in the 80s, I bought these two all the time: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...8b6ef9d53e.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...4e59a3cbfb.jpg |

Comics Scene was the tits when I was in high school. I loved the layout of it. It had a great section that had little blurbs about awesome sounding up and coming "in the works" TV shows and movies that alas never came to pass.

There are a bunch of issue of Comics Scene up on archive.org. Don't think it's the complete run, though.

A great cover for a great title from Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund.

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
will travel, I had to like these covers even though it is just so wrong that this series exist in the first place.
Also, that perspective on the Spider-Man cover with The Lizard, I love it. You do not see a lot of covers with this perspective on them. |
Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
Looking at Fatman's cape, it seems that when C.C. Beck came up with a good cape design he kept using it.

Re: Comic Book Cover Of The Day
Is this as bad? Because I never thought bad of Fat Albert as a kid. Hell, he was their gang leader.
