Artist Kim Jung Gi has passed away

Kim Jung Gi has passed away today, while he was on his way to NY for NYCC. He did some great covers for DC and Heavy Metal magazine and was part of the influx of South Korean artists bringing in their art style to the US over the past decade

47 is way too young. He was an amazing talent. I've read feedback from professional artists who, upon seeing videos of him drawing huge, wall-sized images, instantly concluded that camera trickery was involved. They assumed that something was being projected on the wall, undetected by the camera, so that he could trace it. Nope. The guy was just that good. He'll be missed.

His booth in Artist Alley at NYCC was a tribute. White paper on the table that fans/peers could write messages, some pictures, flowers and artwork.
