This stuff gets stupid after a while. Why not create new characters when they want to do these things. It's only done so they can pretend to be accepting, but it's not done for the sake of the story. It's obvious when you watch something like the MCU Spider-Man movies. They just changed all the races for the sake of changing the races. The thing was they actually had many non white characters in Marvel Comics for years that they could have used instead but chose not to.

This had been rumored for months about Tim Drake. Hollywood is dictating many of these changes for future adaptations in other mediums. It is what it is...

I realize that's probably Jor-el and Lara on the cover but my first impression was what the heck is Supes doing with his cousin in this new book?

The Kryptonian line needs preservation and Clark and Kara are the last full-blooded ones left. Unless you maybe count Powergirl, her status always seems to be changing.

Little known fact before a Kryptonian is banished to the Phantom Zone - they are sterilized. The Phantom Zone would quickly fill up with Phantom babies if not.

Didn't Zod and Ursa have a kid? Or is that retconned? Also man Krypton was messed up with their punishments.

Tons of Kryptonians have appeared in various ways over the past 20 years. Once Kara came back into continuity, DC hasn't worried much about making Superman the last son of Krypton. Superman probably has more living relatives than Batman at this point, lol.

So, first Robin/Tim Drake, and now Superman/Jonathan Kent? I guess the idea is that since Jon is taking over the Superman title from his dad/Clark that DC wants to give him enough difference to not just be a Clark clone. Makes me wonder if this will simply lead up to - yet another - DC Universe Reboot/Retcon/Rewind/Redo/Regret that wipes out this continuity in order to bring Kal-El back as the Superman we are familiar with. A few years of Gay Superman then Re-Rebirth ReConvergence Final Crisis For-Real-This-Time-Until-the-Next-One? Well, it's Superman so I'm in.

Th whole Jon Kent rumor was started by Ethan Van Sciver, so it’s most likely a lie

I'm sure Jonathan Kent was suggested as a possibility in the internal discussion that led to Tim Drake going gay. They likely wanted a young, marketable hero for the change, since Alan Scott's switch hasn't made him any bigger of a character. I don't believe Van Sciver's report this time, he's looking for attention on social media.

He definitely is getting attention - I saw 3 or 4 articles on it which led me to think it had validity. I'm not familiar enough with Van Sciver to know he may be a false source. :scratch2:

The articles are from comic book sites that support Van Sciver and his comicsgate group. We’ve been told not to talk about that specific group in this forum, tu a quick Google search will give you the answers about both of them.
