They also refused to release the uncensored version of White Knight, a series that they are now retroactively making part of the Black line. Either you take the risk or you don't. WB is a fucking mess.
After the relative tranquility of Rebirth for a couple of years, DiDio is aggressively pushing DC back into the news with a lot of questionable stunts of late. Lots of fans are up in arms with the rumored death of Spoiler:

Re: Biggest Batman News in Decades
So it's a "mature readers" Batman series where Batman's dick is shown, not the regular comics?
Okay, I just googled it, and it's Azzarello and Bermejo. Just the cover and title it looks like it'd be R-rated. I'm not a fan of Azzarello. From what little I've read from him, too many characters use puns. I tried his Vertigo Wonder Woman series and everyone seemed to talk the same. Joker had a bunch of puns in it too. Who in real life uses puns? But yeah, I agree it's stupid to censor it, if the editor okayed it and it's supposed to be a part of the "black label" series. Funny this being mentioned in this thread. |

Wow, even The Joker is getting into the act now.

Kevin Smith did a scene where the Joker offered himself up to be sodomizd...

Sorry, I didn't where else to put this, but it is a Batman related question. I'm not sure if this is so, but I heard that

Wait, this is what they focus on?
https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/10...-nightwing-51/ Bleeding Cool told you back in September that Dick Grayson was to no longer be known as Dick. A change that the DC executives have been wanting to make for several years, due to unfortunate connotations with that name in recent decades. And they have taken this moment of amnesia/shock/bullet-through-the-head and taken full advantage of the opportunity granted them. Because this Nightwing? You don’t know Dick. No one does… They ran through some options in Nightwing #50 but have now seemed to settle on one. Ric Grayson. Not Rick Grayson, too close apparentl.y… though they would probably sound the same… |

https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/10...-nightwing-51/ I guess that's one way to reboot a character. I guess. I know fans of Nightwing have for decades been begging for a name change and total amnesia, separating him from all of his legacy connections, because hey, that's what makes the character great. |

That is completely bullshit reporting from Bleeding Cool. Yeah, he's call Ric, but not because of the Dick connotation. Is another fresh start for the character that Didio despises.

Ive read both issues so far. Ric is the name he is using for his fresh start. He knows his name is Dick but he doesn't feel comfortable using it since he doesn't know who Dick is. Alfred and Barbara keeping tabs on him isnt helping either. |

Looks like they got all the 90's X-men writers out for this too. |
Re: Biggest Batman News in Decades
Yeah it's stupid, but like all things comics, it will change on the next creative team, so whatever. It's a good story so far, so I'm on board.

Re: Biggest Batman News in Decades
I'm thinking Nightwing's name change is about creating controversy and will quietly go away down the line.
By this point, many "creative" changes are seemingly done with the intent of generating controversy with fans and creating more publicity. |
