Is there a comic adaptation of The Force Awakens?

I have a small-ish, curated collection of Star Wars TPBs which includes the comic adaptations of the six movies and I haven't seen hide nor hair of anything for TFA.

Anyone else?

There isn't one out yet. Googling it, Marvel apparently said there would be one eventually but not right now. Disney delayed the novelization to just last week to avoid spoilers leaking, so maybe that's part of it, especially given the number of people involved with a comic and the lead time it needs?

Slightly off topic but I remember reading the 1st issue a month before the movie came out. I couldn't even get through it the first time 'cause I thought it was total garbage. Howard Chaykin's art was horrible. I never bought the rest of the series but I am glad my brother did. Still have 'em plus I think every variant of the 1st six issues. Interesting that the cover for #1 has the original design used for the X-Wing.

It does seem odd that there wasn't a release coinciding with the movie. Worrying about spoilers seems like an excuse considering how many ways this stuff can get out.

The only thing so far is a prequel 4 issue mini-series called Star Wars: Journey to The Force Awakens: Shattered Empire

Spoiler concerns wouldn't surprise me at all.

You just know that the dipshits at Marvel Comics would be blabbing about every detail to everyone within earshot.

Yeah, it was the end of March or April 1977. It was so long ago but I'm sure I read it way before seeing the movie. I read the novel before the movie came out, also.

The original Marvel run? That's a fantastic series of farout 70s scifi and the collected TPBs are the prize of my collection.

I preferred the later ESB issues with Al Williamson's art. It was a vast improvement over the earlier issues.
