Christmas in July Exchange
Anyone want to do a gift exchange? Randomize names to get a partner, and exchange mystery grab bags of comic/entertainment trinkets?
Stolen from another forum, but seems like it could be fun.

We have 5 participants. An even number would be easier, but not mandatory I guess. Let's give it a couple more days to see if anyone else wants in.
In the meantime, everyone who is in so far, pick a number.

So what's the rules for this? Do I just send a grab bag of random comics from my Get Rid Of box? Anyone gonna get pissy if some aren't mint? A few might be well-read because I've re-bought here and there.

I don't think anyone is coming to complain about getting fair or even poor condition comics.
You can take the time to research what you think your person might like, or just mail out whatever you have lying around.
I don't know. I'm open to ideas. But I thought it it be fun to trade little mystery gift bags twice a year (July and December).
As far as a minimum and maximum price range, I don't know. I'd be happy with a couple quarter bin oldies, but I don't want to limit people from sending out hardcovers if they want.
And of course it doesn't have to be just actual comics, but anything related to the hobby.

I have. You still have Joe.
Welcome!
I'll hold off on announcing the other matchups in case we get more participants and an odd number makes me shuffle the picks.
Let's give it until the 12th maybe? That would allow everyone two weeks to assemble a little box and hopefully get it delivered by 'half'-Christmas, July 25th.

No; we only had 5 people when I randomized, and may still end up with an uneven number, so it might not be pure exchanges like that.
I gave Terry his just so he could work on it before his cruise. (I'm jealous!)
I deleted that list when we grew, so I'll just re-roll when we lock entering.

I'd feel like shit if I sent someone a grab bag full of comics I found in the .50¢ bin and then someone sends me a $100 hardcover. Not saying that wouldn't be awesome but I kinda feel like there should be a cap.

I hope no one uses this as an excuse to dump a ton of 90's Image and Valiant shit (comics) off on someone else. Other then that, I am interested to see how this turns out.

I'd be interested.

I don't plan on sending any $100 hardcovers but trades around $20-$25 are likely. I was planning to send only 1 tpb at a time. Does that sound right?
