Re: Random comic-related pic thread
Love those Super Powers and Secret Wars shots. I was a teen when they came out but bought a lot of them anyway to display on my bookshelf (I stupidly sold them all in the 90s, d'oh!). Toy collecting wasn't "cool" yet in the mid 80s, so I remember furtively buying them at the local department store, praying that a classmate wouldn't catch me in the deed. I would have never heard the end of that at school the next day.

^That's gotta be John Byrne.

Re: Random comic-related pic thread
Pretty sure it's a collage taken from the covers of the individual comics. The Fly is by Mike Parobeck.
Of course, Byrne's influence might be all over these images. |
Re: Random comic-related pic thread
The Comet, The Web and The Jaguar definitely look like Byrne for certain. You are probably correct about The Fly. The Shield looks like it could be someone else as well.
The Comet drew my eye first. |
Re: Random comic-related pic thread
Tried looking up something about Impact Comics. Yet there isn't much found. Some is listed on Wikipedia and some on a DC fandom site. Seems like it was owned by DC.

It was some deal like Archie could "borrow" DC talent for the comics. No idea who owned the characters. I suspect DC had the option of buying them if the line was successful. |
Re: Random comic-related pic thread
Yeah, the copyright information at the bottom of the ad confirms that DC was the publisher but Archie Comics was the rights holder.
DC has licensed the characters several times in the past, but it looks like Archie still owns them. |

Neal Adams art as well.

There is a total of four tracks, each presenting a different Christmas story. The tracklist for the record is as follows:
(Edited to add: while searching images etc for this record I found a post somewhere that had Neal's signature on the front.) https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...22e611359.jpeg |

Oh no! Batman is woke! I never will read Batman again!
Where there's woke, there's smoke! And when you smoke you choke. And when you choke, you go broke. So don't be woke, Batman! I always hated Batman anyway! |
