What should I get Stan Lee to sign?
I started collecting comic books about 25 years ago and have thousands, but the truth is I don't have any from before that point that are worth a damn. Now I'm trying to figure out what to get Stan Lee to sign this weekend at the local comic book convention. I figure I can just ask him to sign a Spider-Man book that I do have (have most going back to Amazing Spider-Man 290). I also have Spider-Man #1 by Todd McFarlane, but I it's still bagged (McFarlane was NOT happy signing the bag). I guess I could always buy an older issue if I can find it, but I don't want to spend much money on a "key" issue.
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

A picture of Batman, and tell him you're Lee's biggest fan.

^ Stan counted Bob Kane as one of his closest friends. It's no wonder he takes as much credit as he does.
Get him to sign a picture of Steve Ditko.

I like the Masterworks idea.

Do you have "What If...The Amazing Spider-man had not married Mary Jane"?
Have him sign it and cross out the "What If..." part.
If ASM #290 is your oldest issue that would be a good issue to sign. It's a nice cover and plenty of white space for the signature to be showcased.
I think the Masterworks is the best idea though. Normally I wouldn't want an individual issue signed, but having his actual signature on a Spider-man Masterworks book would be fitting.
If you have any vintage Marvel merchandise from the 60s or 70s of Spider-man that would be good too.

Nearly everyone has Stan sign a book of some sort. They are a dime a dozen. I would go with a nice that you can display on the wall like a nice Captain America shield signed inside the star or something like this:

Incidentally, does anyone know who the artist is on this? I was thinking Arthur Adams but wasn't sure.

It's probably too late but you could have gone with the Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus, Vol. 1 which was recently re-printed. And you should have had him sign it somewhere on the inside instead of on the dust jacket. (The downside is you can't display the book with the signature, but signatures on dust jackets look terrible.) The Omnibus is oversized whereas the Masterworks aren't.
Other than that, you probably just should have gone for something that is memorable for you. Stan Lee will sign just about anything so his signature isn't exactly rare. Might as well get it on something that already means something to you where his signature will increase that personal value of the item.

No kidding. I saw him sign all sorts of nonsense on Saturday from blu ray discs to a guitar to a ratty old tshirt for a dog. I settled on poster of Amazing Spider-Man #15 that I can actually hang on my wall. While he was signing away like a machine, he actually took the time to sign it large enough to be legible.

Hold on, you have a Spider-Man #1 bagged, and you asked McFarlane to sign the bag? Wouldn't an open Spider-Man #1 with McFarlane's signature on the actual comic be worth more? Serious question.
