Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I tried it and got an Email saying my purchase: "entitles you to a promotional credit which we have added to your account. This credit can be applied to your next qualifying purchase."

However, when I review the available promo titles, the only option given for purchase is the regular price via 1-click. How do I use the supposed promo credit I was given to make the purchase instead of regular payment? Amazon can be confusing at times..

Just do the 1-click buy and Amazon will apply the credit automatically.

Thanks, it worked indeed. Since there was no mention of the free credit, I feared I was going to be charged for it. It's strange that amazon on one hand is so advanced with their UI & UX and on the other - sometimes navigation and usage is rather confusing and awkward.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

It's a real leap of faith to one-click something and hope you get the credit. As usual, I purchased the qualifying selections but didn't get the e-mail, and I'm not about to buy on blind faith. I could ask CS for the third time this year about a missing promo, but it doesn't seem worth my time and possibly getting flagged as a problem account.

It is annoying how Amazon forces the 'one click purchase' for Kindle items, on faith, and whatever credits you do or do not have just show up later. I've never had a problem.with promotions being applied but it is super confusing.

The four free Marvels on the main freebie page have cycled. Also, some other new freebies in the current DC sale, and on the above wiki by release date link.

Marvel BOGO! Code MARVEL17 through 9/7.

https://www.comixology.com/Marvel-Bu...Z2VDYXJvdXNlbA

I assume it stacks with the Inhumans sale,

A bonus with the Marvel sale is that a lot of graphic novels and trades are discounted to start. For example Carnage Classic is $12.99 (from $24.99), Avengers Defenders War is $7.99 (from $14.99), Ultimate Catalysm is $17.99 (from $34.99), Elektra by Peter Milligan is $9.99 (from $19.99).

YMMV of course, but I picked this up due it looking interesting and I got a second email saying I qualify for a free digital trade. There are 75 titles to choose from at https://www.amazon.com/comicspromo.

It looks to be similar titles to the last time they ran this deal minus the digital ominbuses. Since I went mostly Image before almost completely stopping collecting, there seems to be some stuff that may be worth checking out. Or I'll just grab Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur since the first volume was fun for when my 4-year old gets a little older.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today is the final day of the Marvel BOGO. I only got some Inhumans volumes because the discounts stacked, and regular Amazon trade prices are half of Comixology anyway.

...though is a good point that I forgot about. Punisher vs the Marvel Universe and Fury Max vol. 1 are a couple others.

Essex County is very good. Got an email with a code for 60% off Image comics.

It doesn't look like I got the Image code, which reminds me that I didn't use my Dynamite code before it expired. Oh well, I've bought plenty of both companies over the last few months and have plenty to read.

Ended up with an Image code, so did the double discount on Morning Glories and a couple other sale titles.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Comixology sent out a Boom 50% off coupon code today. Good through 9/20.

Some people comment that they don't get all the coupon codes, I noticed in Comixology settings you can toggle to opt in or out of promotional e-mails. It might be worth double checking that you're on the list. Otherwise I'd be curious to see how Comixology determines who these go to.

I got the Boom code and Dynamite before it, but not Image or DC. Boom is the only company I haven't bought a lot of stuff from before.

Interesting. I've been buying a lot of Image and DC stuff too so seemingly our purchase patterns are similar. Odd.

I got the boom one as well, but I don't really need anything. So if anyone wants the code, I will give it out.

Another weird Amazon Marvel sale, with Masterworks at $3.40 and Epics at $4-6.

Good. I was slow to pull the trigger the last time on a few of the Star Wars Legacy Epics.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Inside Amazon's Plan To Put Comics On Every Screen

Some recent industry data suggests that the big expansion of the digital market has leveled off, although Steinberger says that graphic novels and other digital products are seeing “big double digit” growth rates this year. Nevertheless, with the low-hanging fruit mostly harvested, Amazon sees the current challenge as building a larger overall market by getting new customers onboard, both in the US and overseas.
It's possible these crazy Marvel sales could be part of this.
