Comixology Unlimited is giving 50% off on IDW, Dark Horse, Kodansha, Humanoids, Dynamite, Fantagraphics, Oni, Boom, etc - but there's no obvious reference to the discount on the home page or social media of Comixology so unclear on duration. Stacks with sales and includes pre-orders.

Some trades seem randomly discounted to even cheaper.

Comixology is getting rid of their website and consolidating even further with Amazon.

I think that everyone was expecting Amazon to eventually scuttle "Comixology" and fully integrate digital comic books into the Kindle ecosystem.

And they are also doing away with DRM-free downloads:


The current scuttlebutt also says that they're going to start uniquely watermarking comic book downloads to deter pirates.

Which wouldn't be surprising since it was divulged last year that Amazon has designed a scheme to watermark streamed video content in attempt to track down pirates. (https://fossbytes.com/new-amazon-pat...-leak-content/)

This is bad. DRM-free was the only type of purchase I made on Comixology. I won't support paying for something that I don't truly own afterwards.

Mass complaints about the "new" storefront and discoverability too. And I assume most of the deals (especially on single issues) as they exist today would be dead.

I was also hoping for that, but doesn't seem it's happening. Overall, the black Friday - cyber Monday sale was rather disappointing, I expected something bigger with a lot more publisher included, especially considering it might be the last Comixology big sale before Amazon swallows them whole.
