I have MU for now. I'll keep it until I finish reading cosmic Marvel. After that I won't have much use for it.

FTR, I do like the concept of reading via streaming. Downloading everything seems like a clunky process except in cases where I have a specific need for it, like the cases I mentioned.

The Marvel comic Mosaic Prelude #1 is free on Comixology.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Just a heads up for anyone who is using the 30% off coupon. I tried using it for a ton of independent stuff 100+ items and it wouldn't go through. Everything would lock up and I couldn't check out. I emailed Comixology and they said it was a problem with the volume of the order. They never got back to me with a solution so I ended up cutting the order down to 60 things and it went through, though very slowly. If it was a multiple use coupon then I would have done a couple of orders, but since it is not, Comixology lost half of a pretty good sized sale.

Is this thread dead?

I still check regularly... some of the more recent deals have been 'meh' except for that super annoying buggy 30% off code...

...and now Marvel's BOGO weekend!

I feel like that IDW crossovers sale has been going on for like a month now...

Marvels BOGO sale works on sale items, but I can't get the old trick to work (of a $.99 sale $3.99 item to give me another $3.99 item free).

Comixology seems to have fixed this sales 'glitch.' It now charges for the highest actual price item first across several scenarios that used to net unbelievable deals.

The Marvel BOGO says "no limit to the number of purchases for which the free offer applies"--I assume that means the code can be used multiple times, not just that there's no limit to the number of items in a single purchase?

Oh well, it was good while it lasted. Can't blame them for fixing it.

Yep, coupon can be used multiple times. But cart limit of 150 items iirc, fwiw.

Here's a great deal. Recent $40 Avengers Standoff huge collection for $4.50 via Amazon, instantly transfers to Comixology.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Amazon is pricing a lot of their digital collections at 50% off, so you can kind of re-create the offer if you want to use credits or if you have only one to buy, etc.

Comixology shows when you've purchased something on Amazon, but Amazon doesn't show what you've purchased on Comixology, which is annoying. They make it really easy to buy again even if you purchased on Amazon by still offering the one-click button then showing the purchase history in a different place on the page.

Thank you for mentioning this. Instead of trolling Comixology looking for similarly priced items and filling up my cart with a bunch of stuff I hadn't planned on buying, I just went to Amazon and got the one thing I really wanted: Black Panther Masterworks v.1.

The Marvel sale does work on Max Books but sadly not Icon titles.

I have that material in hardback Masterworks and B&W Essential, and I was planning to get the upcoming Epic, and maybe digital would be the way to go there. I enjoy it, but there are some huge walls of text there. :)

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I was trying to finish off my Marvel BOGO purchases today when I found out Comixology had emptied my cart. :(

While a large part of my strategy for the DC BOGO was to re-create my Legion collection in digital, for this one I'm focusing more on titles that I don't own in physical. I did get some Defenders Masterworks I'd been missing, but when I started to add up the Avengers and FF issues I wanted, it seemed better to wait on those in case I do go Unlimited at some point. I've also decided to wait on some cosmic titles like Annihilation and post-Infinity Gauntlet, but I might sample some Civil War or classic Thunderbolts just because of the cheap stacking.

Amazon still has the 50% off Marvel pricing. I thought it would shut off last night.

If you still have the promo code in your cart, it still works today, especially well with the new House of M collection sale.

Wow that Kodansha sale is pretty good, even if it is only the first volumes in every series.

Heroines of Titan sale. I've mentioned the B&W Claremont-Bolton fantasy here before and might pick up the digital version.

The War that Time Forgot has Cave Carson, and Doom Patrol and Shade are self explanatory, but who's in Resurrection Man and War of the Gods?

Be warned that this bundle is tied to the Magster service, not viewable outside of that iirc.
