I see a number of things that look interesting but I can't tell if it'd work or not (like the Lost Girls erotica comic with fairy tale princesses - it seems either delightfully subversive or juvenile minded fantasy). Thanks in advance for any recommendations. |

What specific items from the IDW Parental Advisory Sale do you recommend?
I see a number of things that look interesting but I can't tell if it'd work or not (like the Lost Girls erotica comic with fairy tale princesses - it seems either delightfully subversive or juvenile minded fantasy). Thanks in advance for any recommendations. Lost Girls is by Alan Moore and is considered a masterpiece, though I own it and still haven't gotten to reading it yet, so I can't really recommend it. "From Hell", on the other hand - I have read and thought it deserved all the high praise it got. I remember enjoying "Brooklyn Dreams" way back when it was originally published, and "Chicacabra" seems interesting, since I enjoyed Tom Beland's other books. Other than that, I usually look for user reviews on Amazon or other sites, and as such - "Infinite Kung Fu" and "Children of the Grave" sound good, though again - since it's all a matter of personal taste, you never really can tell. Hope that helps :) |

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Well, Marvel isn't having a sale this weekend.
Instead they have a BOGO coupon code! Using the code MARVEL at check out will get you one free Marvel comic for every one Marvel book you buy. It appears to work on everything Marvel publishes (Singles, Trades, MAX books) except for Icon books, bundles and pre-orders. Code expires @ 11:58 EST on April 24th. --- Also there is a sale on what they're calling a [/B]"Game of Thrones plus" Bundle[/B] through May 2, but it's actually a few GoT books and some other Dynamite fantasy books thrown together. Really good deal for the price though (18 books for the price of one) The GoT books appear to be exclusive to the bundle. Bundle - $1.99 Includes: Game of Thrones #1-4 Wheel of Time: The Eye of the World #1-7 Pathfinder #1-7 https://www.comixology.com/Game-of-T...ale/page/10483 |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Marvel is also having a sale on 2015 Nova and Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-man - https://www.comixology.com/Miles-Mor...ale/page/10500
If you add a $0.99 sale item to cart you can add another item equal it it's original price and get both for $0.99 with BOGO code. |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
On the current Marvel b1g1f sale, you can save by adding three of the $.99 Nova/Miles Morales sale titles first, then three full price matching $3.99 or $1.99 titles, and then the MARVEL code. More than three at a time and the cart gets wonky and you don't get the maximum discount. Repeat as necessary until all Nova/Miles sale titles are purchased.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
Thanks to Undeadcow for pointing out the sale I missed. I guess Marvel is too busy advertising the BOGO coupon on the main page (It takes up 3 featured slots!) that I missed it.
Although no thanks for making me spend more money. -ptth- So, the coupon ends the same time the Monday sales usually go up. I wonder if it will stick around long enough to work if I nab whatever is on sale the moment goes up, or is there some trick to keeping the coupon active in your cart for a bit? (I seem to remember something like that before) :hscratch: |
Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)
