That's the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo. After years of Chicago only having a really crappy con -- Wizard World Chicago, which has gotten worse with every passing year -- we're finally going to get a good one. C2E2 is being put on by Reed, which has put on the New York Comicon the last few years. The guest list looks awesome:

I am really looking forward to this con. I'm a huge Legion of Superheroes fan and a few years back I started a project to get signatures from as many LSH creators as I could. This is going to be a bonanza for me -- Jim Shooter will be there, Mark Waid will be there, Paul Levitz will be there, Geoff Johns will be there, Colleen Doran will be there -- and that's just from a quick perusal of the guest list. Plus, there are a ton of creators who haven't worked on the LSH but who will be awesome to meet.

Also, in the interests of full disclosure, I am going to get my ass completely embarassed by Mark Waid in the Silver Age Trivia contest on Friday.

April 16-18 at McCormick place! Not out in suburban Rosemont (where Wizard World has the con), but actually in the big convention center here in Chicago! That fact alone is pretty cool.

So who else is going?

I'll be going for the day on Friday. Chicago isn't very far for me, so it'll be worth it finally for a GOOD convention.

I haven't been to the Wizard World convention in years...SO downhill

I found out about this about 2 weeks ago and I really want to go. I live really close to McCormick Place and you're right, it's great to have a convention IN Chicago, rather than out by O'Hare. I loved going to the conventions when they were downtown so many years ago.
