I'm just saying that as a major target audience for this book, it left me with a very *meh* feeling, more so when I see people claiming it as "the best most must thing evar!" But, YMMV.

I stand collated. Perhaps your expectations were too high, but as storytelling and as graphic storytelling, I found the book to be exemplary.

Seconded on the criminal series. whole lotta love for that book. also for just good old time fun its atomic robo for me. not in the vein of what you describe, but just a great adventure book.
